Well, as it is nearing the end of the collegiate season and many runners are moving on to bigger things in life, I wanted to take a moment to congratulate a great friend of mine, George Letner, on a great collegiate running career. I’ve been fortunate to spend quite a bit of time with George—“Geo” as some of us call him, and through the ups and the downs his sense of humor, nose-to-the grindstone work ethic, and hilarious moments have made the hard times easier and the easy times more entertaining. George was part of some of the great moments we had as a team—3rd place at Midwest Regionals XC in 2019, upsetting OSU on their home course—but will be remembered for what he brought in terms of his attitude and fantastic character as a human being. I’m honored to call him a friend and part of some of my greatest athletic memories. And if that’s not enough, he’s going to medical school! Enjoy retirement, Geo! You earned it!
