Take banana off of suicide watch. Bekele confirmed to be in.

Can't believe he wasn't in for 2016.
If true, he will spend the next two months juicing.
The interesting thing about it would be the information we can glean about the effectiveness of doping, in that time-frame.
As some of you guys say: TO.........THE.........GILLS
ZERO TRUST.

Hmm ,this is one of your told-u-so posts
U get to come back after bekele wins and soak up all the narcissistic glory
There will be no glory if he either wins or is busted, or both—only amazement, embarrassment, shame, sadness, and on my part vitriol.
He has amazing form, though. Impeccable! But it seems to me there’s no way he could win cleanly, given the buildup you guys seem to always claim is necessary to hit a major in peak form.
Plus, WTF—why the Olympics? Wouldn’t he want to hit a big-money marathon and get paid, if he was going to go to the trouble to get in race shape?

WE CAN HOPE!
Thank God now I can bet at least 10k on him to win with good odds. I hope he's juiced out of his mind.

Bekele was absolutely gutted when he missed the marathon world record by a couple of strides.
He probably knows that he won't be able to beat that time and winning any major marathon is not something he is interested in. He doesn't need the money.
He wants Olympic glory again.
You have no idea about his actual financial status. And more money is no bad thing, even if he is ok.
If he was so gutted and the WR was his goal, wouldn’t he pick a fast course and a good opportunity like Berlin?
I don’t buy any of this, really. Zero trust.
Great news if true.

I think an Ethiopian Olympic Gold in the marathon means a lot to him (and Olympics in general). In 2016 when he was left off the team his first response was to try and make it in the 10,000m which he failed at but tells me he wanted to go more so than running a fall marathon.

why Bekele in particular? Is he more likely to dope than the others? Like you said, his form is and always was amazing so do you not think he has ability to do well?

And no one else running in the Olympics will be juicing, so big advantage to Bekele!
Are they still calling them the 2020’Olympics?
So what would happen if USOC said yes but USATF said no? We know that the USOC gives authority to pick teams to each Federation. The US Archery Federation picks their team. However, that is a gift from the USOC. Seems to me, the Olympic Committee wins in a battle between itself and another group that only has power they give it. The Olympic Committee ignores the Athletics Federation and he goes. Not saying he should or that's right, but the Ethiopian Olympic Committee is given 3 slots by the IOC. If I got to decide this, it's not how I'd go, but it's what I predict.
Let the 3 Ethiopian athletes who won Olympic spots represent Ethiopia. In addition let IOC allow Kenenisa to take part as an honor for all he has done for the sport. That said, he will not even be a factor whether he dopes or not. He is just way past his prime and marathon has never been to his liking

I love that a Mod came here and put "UNCONFIRMED" in the title of the post...
To be clear, basically everything on this cesspool is "UNCONFIRMED" from the ridiculous right wing posts, to the anti Vaxx stuff, to the Trump won the election stuff. It's hysterical what they feel they need to label as possible mis-information... just saying.
