Dust in the Wind is a great fingerpicking exercise.
Too complicated for this beginner, but I do love it.

I'm in bass training right now and I need to be the next Sid Vicious.
Bass is just a guitar for those who can't play.

Street Spirit by Radiohead has a similar-sounding guitar part that is easier to play.

Probably not.
I've only been playing for two years and am an old guy (so learning takes longer).
Learned the basics by watching justinguitar.com beginner course lessons (excellent teacher).
I'm not very good, though my friends and family say I'm really good (they're prejudiced).
I'd say I'm an "advanced beginner" party/campfire guitarist. I'll never even be an "intermediate guitarist", but I have fun playing and enjoy it immensely.
I have 2 acoustic guitars and 4 electrics (all Fender).

no matter how well I play or don't play, no one here knows if they can or not...unless they don't play at all.
Thank you, Captain Obvious. Please forgive us for assuming you were attempting to start a conversation about playing guitar, rather than making some dumb@ss logic test.

I taught guitar for 20 years. It's a great tune for beginners. Landslide, by Fleetwood is another. Super simple chords, and an easy repeating right hand pattern.

I've tried, I'm slow and have arthritic fingers. I love trying but I'm pathetic.
Landslide is how i finally got the hang of travis picking. Great song to learn with.
great choice, i have a similar model, although i'm completely newbie, I just wanted a good tool right away.

Landslide should be easy for beginners. Stevie Nick's wrote it when she was a beginner.
Chasing Cars is the undisputed easiest song to learn on guitar.

There are LOTS of great guitarists, even some famous ones from Ohio:
Dave Grohl
Chrissy Hynde
Al Jardine
John Scofield
Boz Scaggs
Tracy Chapman
even Phil Keaggy
Doug Gillard
Rick Derringer
Tom Scholz!!!
Both Grohl (Virginia) and Derringer(Indiana) are better associated with other States.

I can play Mayer's "Why Georgia" and "In Your Atmosphere" but not "Neon". Can pretty much figure out any songs I like, but am plagued by small fingers so some are just out of reach.
