I am confident I could perform a more entertaining guitar set than you.

Yes. I can play stairway to heaven.

Sadly, I cannot. I am fairly confident that my son is a better player than you, but he would never say so.

not sure if you're trolling, but how exactly am i supposed to make this judgement? have you previously posted verified videos of yourself playing guitar that i'm supposed to use as a reference? and besides that, i'm sure i don't have to tell you that measuring guitar ability is not exactly as straightforward as a road 5K PR. do we have a reference song to measure against?
1) I DO play guitar.
2) There is no verifiable way for you or anyone else on this message board to know if they play better than I do.
3) This, among other things, was an exercise to see if people would profess to be better or worse with no way of knowing. That has happened. Of course it did.

Interesting.

No. I can play only a few simple songs. Best free software or channels to learn more?
Ok...as you gave a very good and seemingly honest answer, I am going to be completely open with you.
I am a guitarist. I am not a virtuoso. The best advice I ever got regarding learning to play chords was to play songs you like with different chords in them. For example, if you want to learn A7, play Peaceful Easy Feeling because it has an A7 in it. If you want to learn Am, play Runaround by Blues Traveler because it has an Am in it, etc. More fun than just learning basic chords.
Secondly, for more advanced stuff, there are some Youtubers I follow for learning purposes. My favorite is this guy:

Utter crap.
Thanks, I will try those out. For the record, I can and do(too often!) play an acoustic version of Stairway, as I learned that during my six months of acoustic instruction at the end of high school. Unfortunately, that was it for lessons and hard practicing, and I am little better than that today.

Charles Berthoud is good. I am aware of him. He became YouTube famous because Davie504 had him in one of his videos when he paid him on Fiverr to play a bass line...and then did it at least one other time. Anyway, Charles figured it was a good way to make some coin, so he started his own channel.
Both are great bass players. I think Davie is much funnier and more more unique.
Davie IS the one who says "send bass" and calls his subscribers "Slappers".
Anyway, good call though on mentioning Charles. He's quite good.

Yes. Why do you ask?

I appeared on an Australian talent show and obviously I play better than Flagpole.
Flagpole,
Have you ever tried any alternate tunings? They can be a fun way to come up with new ideas.
I particularly like DADABE at the moment.

If you've held a bass, your Sid Vicious bass training is over.

Let's use a running analogy to examine your conclusion. If you ask whether I am capable of running a faster 5k than you, and I run 13:00 at that distance, then I can, in all probability, conclude that I am faster than you. Even though I have no idea how fast you are, I will be correct almost 100% of the time.
I see that has already been resolved.
I wanted to play like Mike Bloomfield. Didn't happen. If you aren't as good him then you probably aren't much better than me.

If this young man has some mental health issues, as it appears then why is he being publicly humiliated like this?
Is there no law to protect vulnerable people like him?
