I am considering taking up this goal that I had in college but never quite managed to achieve. Here's some background:
In high school and college I was a mid-distance runner that pretty much exclusively ran the 800 and occasional 4x400. I ran XC but was not very good at it. I graduated college in 2014 and since then have been running consistently between 40-60 MPW but moved up to longer stuff, including a marathon in 2018 and 2020. Right now I am training for a road mile and it got me thinking that I might want to go after a sub 2 800 one more time. PR's are below:
28 year old male, 5'11, 170 currently (weight hasn't changed much in the last 10 years)
200 - 25 low
400- 56 low FAT, 55 hand timed (2012)
800 - 2:01.01 (2012) My best season, I was consistently running 2:02s and ran 2:01 twice
1500 - 4:19 (2016)
5K - 16:52 (2016)
10K - 35:53 (2016)
Half - 1:21 (2018)
Full - 3:04 (2018)
Do you think I can get under 2? If so, how long would it take?
