surprised about kelsey chmiel's time, i thought shes in better shape than tuohy and would be able to run under 15:50
Chmiel always runs better in xc than in track for whatever reason

. . . and she didn't have a last-lap kick . . . just another 73 when Donoghu & couple others closed in 69s.
This makes Henes something like the 35th American woman to get the Trials standard . . . a few will run the Steeple & 1500 & 10k . . . but still there will be more that the target field size of 24.
I thought the US women's 1500 runners were amazing, which they are . . . but the 5k depth in is another orbit . . .

Heck of a time.
i smell rivalry between her and hannah steelman (is it just me or??)
A very friendly rivalry
She has always run XC better than track. But she did get under 16 earlier this year. Will be interesting to watch.

I don't think anyone on the team is challenging Henes in the 5000m this year.
i dont think so .. hannah steelman is in pretty good shape too! but yea, henes has been running pretty darn well, this is probably her last outdoor season??? is it?

just like in the mens too!! some crazy numbers and depth there too ..
1500m, 3s, 800, 200, 100, hurdles need to step their game up coz both men and womens 5000m runners' improvement has sky rocketed, pretty good races too!
Anna Camp doubles back from her 4:11 with 2:04. Lauren Ellsworth 4:16/2:07.

She's saving her legs for cross country. Championship is only 7 months away
Guess hennes will bo going pro

of course she is
Too bad hennes has that really bad fear of grass or allergy to grass. I forget which but anyway too bad otherwise NC State would kill it at Cross country. I mean I think they're going to win it anyway but with hennes is it would be a slam dunk. I think she'll be back again next year and then she'll go pro. Too bad they don't make allergy shot that work for grass
What happened to Leo Dashbach and Washington?

Henes did and does not have XC eligibility
Those are some great times....Henes hitting the qualifying time is awesome. Tuohy, Shaw, Steelman....those are all great times. Very nice to see the progress for all of them. I would be interested in hearing if Chmiel just had a bad race....pretty sure she was shooting for under 16.
Overall though, very strong numbers. And yes, Tuohy certainly will be proving some people wrong.
Flotrack has M Invite 1500 up, Mantz outkicked Tanner in final 100, go figure.
Sam Tanner has no chance of beating Hocker if he can't even outkick a 10k guy.

The times are becoming meaningless with the new super shoes. Time to start a new book on this stuff.

Flotrack now has W 1500 Invite up. Gear outkicked Orton in last 50 m. Orton lead from the point the pacers dropped out at 800, roughly 2:15, with Tuohy in second until 300 to go. 1200 m was roughly 3:20, which is 4 seconds faster than Tuohy ran in her DMR leadoff leg. She ran out of gas at 1400, and 6 ladies passed her coming in. When I saw Gear run the 2:05 a week ago I felt pretty good she could run a fast 1500 as she is not really an 800 type athlete. Orton closed in 63 so Gear must have been 62, while Tuohy was about 68.
Courtney Wayment won the steeplechase by more than 17 seconds in 9:31.37, which broke the school record by more than 11 seconds.
The announcers were criticizing her form over the barriers but it looked to me like every barrier she gained a meter on Steelman, who would battle back, but then Wayment just blew her away in last 800.
