Ha! Umm, noooo.
Why would Schumacher need a successor? He's pretty young as far as coaches go...

I run on a pro team. Our coach is 60 years old. He runs an hour every day and has more energy than any of us. Jerry will be coaching for another 20 years if he wants to.
BS , Jerry doesn’t need to be replaced,

If you're gonna throw out a crazy claim like this you need to back it up with some evidence.
#fakenews
OP is an idiot
Why would he leave the college system?
Good pay, still very flexible work terms, and offers a lot of freedom to direct the program.
Jerry is like 50. He has a solid 20 years left in some sort of coaching situation.
If anything Jerry hires some assistant coaches to make sure all the athletes have the attention they need.

Isn't that what Flanagan was for? Thomas definitely won't leave Oregon if he doesn't have a direct role in coaching and from what I hear Jerry is very particular about his system and not willing to give it up. I think it's why Flanagan isn't coaching the women (in terms of writing workouts), idk maybe it's cause of her kid and other stuff she has going on. I'm just saying, I can't see Thomas being what was Julian to Salazar and even then, it was several years before Julian actually began directly managing his own athletes.

Jerry wants a college gig , with money and a chance to purchase a decent home . Jerry doesn't get excited or is proud a Nike CEO gets a 15 million dollar bonus in 2020 , Jery wants his share and he isn't getting it by watching Karissa and Shelbo arguing over places to buy Bagels.

You follow BTC on insta? With Nike campus closed Jerry has built a private gym on his own basketball court. Yes. He has an indoor basketball court with his home.
There's a saying in the pro community that for every dollar Nike pay Schumacher they save $5 with athletes. People will turn down bigger offers elsewhere just to train with BTC.
I imagine he gets more than just about any college could offer, and gets to work with better athletes.
Speaking of the athletes - I imagine half the team would quit/go elsewhere if he left in anything other than a smooth transition to Flanagan. Adding to that - already rumours on potential new recruits. Not to mention that there were three new team members for this season - imagine it would be a tough sell to make people move across the States (and across oceans) to join a coach for one year.
1/10 effort. At least throw in something to make it believable like a surprise illness causing him to need to step down or something.
Smh.
Who are they recruiting?
I heard over the summer Jerry was looking for college jobs?

I heard he wants out so he can pursue online coaching. Nike is nice but he can make some sweet bank becoming an Instagram/TikTok influencer and writing training plans for 50 year old boomers who want that Boston Qualifier.

My safe bet would be Lucia Stafford. Canadian collegiate in last year of school. Ran 4:05 1500m solo indoors, beat Sage Hurta (NCAA indoor mile champ) at Oregon Relays on the weekend. Her older sister is already on the team, she didn't re-sign with New Balance who sponsored her last year (Canadian collegiates can be sponsored). There was a thread a while back with some people saying it was gonna happen, but she posted on social media a vid of herself in Portland at the Nike track so a few reasons to think there's fire to go with the smoke.

Ben Thomas is an assistant at Oregon. Jerry is the head coach of Bowerman. Probably makes 3-5 x what Thomas makes and is in charge.
I would imagine Ella Donoghu/Stanford senior has been knocking on Jerry's door.
Grew up in Portland, went to Grant HS, likely would love to join up with her past Stanford teammates Cranny & Fraser.
