Lurker - kudos on the 45 second 400. What is your secret?

I was just running fast and relaxed, came around a bend and there were a bunch of people standing in the path. I quickly dodged around them so as not to break stride and just as I curved back onto the trail, a starter’s pistol went off right next to me. I was so startled that I jumped 6ft in the air and when I came down I landed on the back of the lead competitor. Turned out, they were holding the rarely-contested ‘lete 400m park run, and I had just piggybacked onto Wayde van Niekerk! He won the race (huh, I guess I got 2nd?) I felt bad b/c he would’ve gone 43-high without dragging me along, but he was very nice about it. Anyway, that’s how I run a 45sec 400.
Thanks for asking darkwave 😁. You week looks solid as always, even with the challenges you mention, seem to be ticking every box! Pollen is a pain, I don’t even have bad allergies, but past couple weeks I am definitely feeling it.
HHW - your fitness is getting crazy good, fun to watch! I’ll be headed to the outback’s myself, but not until June, looking forward to a vacation.
Pewow - my dad was never a runner, found it jarring, but he enjoyed long skips and would always say it was much easier on his knees and ankles. He’d sometimes go skip for as much as an hour. I’ll spare you the long back story, suffice to say it kept him pretty fit.
Stone - week looks textbook, and very nice pacing job for your friend
Sub-6:00 - hope you get a race!
ZM swift - I know you don’t want to HM or M, but damn you could run them well
BHViking - how is 160HR feeling? Pretty solid or still on the edge? I’m finding 155 to be a little edgy, more work at 150 called for me to really lock down.
RunnerSam - 7 good days, consistency is a good sign!
Notarobot - your’re going to smash your PR!
DirtroadSC - nice week, keep those kids on their toes!
