Polarized sunglasses will help cut down glare more than regular. If you wear them while running, you will still notice some glare while running facing the sun. I also wear a cap or a visor because it completely eliminates glare.
Mirror and polarized is best. Mirror lenses have the obvious style element, some like, some don't. Polarized definitely cut glare but also make some screens hard to see. My cars radio touch screen is unusable for me with some glasses. I think it must have a polarized surface and you can't see through two polarized lenses unless the are oriented exactly right.
