There is some social media buzz that is getting the attention of the NCAA to have the prelims move back from 32 to 48 participants. #Reinstate48 is the hashtag.
There is no reason these races should be reduced in sizes and for over 1,000 participants to lose a chance to make the prelims. This is an outdoor even contested in sections- not a royal rumble in a closed building.
Every athlete who wants a vaccine will also be able to have one by then as well- many have already received one.
