What is with teenagers who like to hang out at playgrounds made for little kids? They sit around screaming, cursing and n-wording up a storm, eating edibles and generally just being terrible. WTH is wrong with these kids?

What's wrong with them? I think you described it pretty well. Drugs don't help bad behavior.
I suppose that’s the world generations of older people have created for them.

How do you know they are eating edibles ?
Well, besides the fact that they were talking openly about it as they sat next to a swingset full of toddlers, they helpfully littered the packaging (STONER PATCH KIDS) on the ground rather than put it in one of the several trash cans that were available.
These kids were probably 13-14.

Thats pretty bad. I must agree.

As long as I've been aware of "local playgrounds", they have been filled with teenagers hanging out getting, drunk, stoned, high, etc. Some grow out of it. Some die from it. Unlikely ever to change.

You mean like they have degenerate parents who never taught them how to behave in public?
Is this he playground on your lawn? Did you tell them to get off?

You mean like the kids used to do back in the 50's, 60's, 70,'s, 80's, 90's, 00's?

And you didn't say sh*t, huh?
I do this, minus the drugs.

Yeah, the new theme on LR is that the liberals are training their kids to be vile human beings. I've met countless friends of my 16-year old daughter and they are all nice kids that call me either "Sir" or "Mr. Aztec". Their parents all seem to be good people as well.

...nor does the lack of two parent households, culpability, and just general guidance.

Evidently its still better than the parks in Seattle.
You need to move to a better part of town.

Have you tried cancelling them? That usually works.

Yep. Parenting is responsible for the behavior of their kids as kids and also as adults. We are a product of our environment. I should note there are a lot of "well meaning" try hard parents that sctew up their kids--they typically have a parenting style that is overprotective and/or authoritarian. Absent parenti is obviously a big problem too. The best type of parenting however is authoritative parenting.
What the heck is with old boomers these days? My son and his friends were playing basketball at a local park when a cop shows up and says someone called the police because there was "gang" activity on the basketball court. Fortunately the cop was reasonable and laughed about it. He told them they often get calls when teenagers use the basketball court.

Do you have children? For the most part, I treat my kids as if they are adults and they are nice, respectful people that do well in school.
