Are they good at fighting?
Or are they weak because of low muscle mass in the upperbody? Are their testosterones levels depleted by all long training?
Or are they strong because low body fat, powerful legs and great stamina?

I think some of the more built middle distance runners could be solid fighters.
Someone like Farah or Rupp? I’d laugh if they tried to get in my face and that’s not me trying to sound like a tough guy.
No.
But some fighters are good distance runners.
Absolutely not. Runners are good at one thing. running. That’s literally it.
After Chrisanto Espana beat Olympic Boxing Gold Medalist Meldrick Taylor for the Welterweight Title, Ring Magazine said Espana (Brother of former Lightweight Champ Ernesto) was a 2:17 Marathoner, who was financing his Boxing by Running road Races almost every week, sometimes racing both on Saturday and Sunday, he said running helped his boxing and he preferred it to getting a regular job, to finance his boxing, He said until he won the Welterweight Title he had actually made more Money in Running. https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/4792

But Farah got the fighting spirit, that's the most important
Kipchoge or Chuck Norris, who ya got?
if it was a war-type battle with small arms over a large battlefield, and the opponent has no vehicles or horses, yes, way better. Maneuvering is everything.
It's funny how skiers have a skiing and shooting sport to simulate this, but runners don't, since the modern pentathlon died out. There should be a running and shooting biathlong, except knowing runners, they'd probably shoot each other.
A lot of boxers/kickboxers run 15-40 miles a week. But, obviously...that's just morning "Road work" on top of the time spent learning how to fight and performing strength training.

The same question could be asked of baseball players, football players, etc. it all depends on training and instinct. Some have it, some do not.
Don’t you remember the recent video going around showing two college football lunks getting their faces beaten in (literally) in a bar by smaller guys who happened to have fighting training. It didn’t take long either. Lol
