You are a top level runner 4.05 miler or better easily. No low level runner goes to a track and runs 2:00 (800) like that and then another one. Perhaps you should ask your Univ or Club coach who has you in this shape what your season is looking like. US Oly Trials or Oly Games if not from US. That’s an elite workout so you’re not fooling anyone 2:00 (800) x2 indicates you’re a low 1:50 800 guy or better just tuning up .. yes you’re trolling but it’s Sunday and thought I’d play along.
You must be nauseous from lactic...
2 hours apart is full recovery.
If you want a real indicator workout you need to shorten the rest SIGNIFICANTLY.
I know university guys who could split 2.01-2.02 for 2x800m on 3 minutes rest. They had 800 PBs of 1.51 - 1.53 and 1500 PBs of 3.50-3.52 at the time. The fastest miles they ever ran was 4.07-4.08.
Unless this guy is older and purely aerobic, 2 flat in the 800 probably won't get you anything faster than 4.18-4.20 in the mile.
