Good evening all,
My season is just around the corner and I believe that I have put in the work. This is my senior track season, and I think I am ready to drop a huge PR and maybe even a school record in the 3200m. In 2021, I have put in 760 miles, and a lot of hard work. In the fall I ran 16:27 for 5k on a cross country course. This winter I had many strong workouts.
Here are some of my workouts:
- 4x(800m on, 400m off) 800 splits: 2:23,2:27,2:28,2:28 then 4x(400m on, 400m off) 400 splits:67,69,69,65
-4 mile tempo at 5:35 pace, then 2x(400m on, 400m) 400 splits:69,68
-8x(400m on, 400m off) 400 splits:66,73,70,68,68,67,67,65 avg: 68
-Solo 3200m (at sea level, I live at 5800ft) in 9:59
-2 mile tempo at 5:23, then 4x(400m on, 400m off) 400 splits: 67,69,70,69
-4x800m with 60 second standing rest 800m splits: 2:27,2:27,2:23,2:23, then 2x(200m on, 200 off)200 splits: 33,31
I think that should mostly show what kind of fitness I'm in. In the last few months I've been doing those workouts on 50-60 miles a week. What do I need to do in the next few weeks to run sub 9:45 and how should I mentally prepare myself for the pain that I will have to endure to do it. I KNOW that the fitness is there, I KNOW that I have put in the work to do it.
Thanks in advance.
