These won’t crack the list since it was just over the legal limit, but 10.0x for Erriyon Knight and Jaylen Slade are super impressive (even if it’s Clermont)

Bear in mind that while it is only early May, this list represents the entire world😮.
Yes, we have yet to see big numbers from Japanese like Kiryu and AHSB, some Jamaicans like Carter and Blake, and others like Prescod etc—but a great many guys have already put up serious results...and there is Gatlin, in the top 10.
To be fair, lots of guys are packed into a small window, and only Su and Bromell have gained separation; but it’s still amazing that Gatlin’s in the mix at all.
Yes I know that times come from where meets are actually held--but with that in mind, I checked out the locations of the top-25 raw times on the IAAF list:
Florida: 16, with 11 different athletes, essentially at sea level
Texas: 2, with 2 different athletes
Oregon: 2, by a single athlete
South Africa: 2, by a single athlete, at high elevation
Arizona: 1, at moderate elevation
China: 1
Nigeria: 1
Take from that what you will, if anything.
Clermont is right up there with the old Eugene, Rieti, PoS, etc.
Rieti 2010: out of 8 athletes—
5 PB’s
2 SB’s
2 NR’s
1 WL
A 9.7 and only one guy above 10-flat—and the lineup included none of the big 5.
Been there—yes it’s nice.
I think we just have to realize that Florida is the Fastest Place on Earth

ROW coming strong! Jacobs enters tied at #5 in 10.02 with his sea-level 9.94 (1.5), while Leotlela breaks things up at #8 in 10.04, going 9.94 (1.3) at high elevation.
Jacobs looks good, but I haven’t seen a vid of Leotlela’s race.
Good sprint weekend coming up, both Bromell and a returning Baker will run, and there will be NCAA action.
Notice: zero Jamaicans...in fact zero Caribbeans in the top-10. Represented are USA, RSA, CHN, ITA, GHA. Good times ahead, will be interesting to see what Blake and Carter can do when fit. Also, zero Brits! Gemili? Prescod? Etc? Zero Canadians, zero Japanese, zero Nigerians.
Here it is, Leotlela's race
Well, Leotlela’s got some work to do on that race of his. Good news is that although fast, there’s real room for improvement!
And holy fast gun, that’s the way uh-huh uh-huh I like it uh-huh uh-huh...yeah
Jacobs ran in 9.95

Yeah, will fix it next update, thanks👍
Going to update after this weekend.
KERLEY!😮🔥. IDK if I will put on his latest, or the early asterisk one. Looks like he may have given that faster one some cred! And he beat Gat and ADG fair and square, so he’s legit. He has earned his spot on the list, and from now on the performance/wind bias will be in his favor. He has proven himself, at least to me.
Update 8 - May 24
1. Su 9.92 - 9.98 (-0.9)
2. Bromell 9.95 - 9.88 (1.5)
3. Young 9.96 - 9.94 (0.5)
4. Williams 10.00 - 10.03 (-1.0) 757m
5. Kerley 10.01 - 9.91 (2.0)

7. Martin 10.02 - 9.94 (1.6)
7. Jacobs 10.02 - 9.95 (1.5)
9. Simbine 10.03 - 9.99 (0.2) 1274m
10. Leotlela 10.04 - 9.94 (1.3) 1753m
11. Gatlin 10.05 - 9.98 (1.4)
11. Azamati-Kwaku 10.05 - 9.97 (1.5)
11. Gillespie 10.05 - 9.96 (1.9)

14. King 10.06 - 9.97 (1.9)
*. Simbine 9.86 - 9.99 (-3.0) 1274m
Kerley moves onto the main list tied at #5 with his early-season max legal wind 9.91, which he just backed up in Ostrava with his 9.96 FTW in very cool conditions, beating Gatlin and ADG. For sure he belongs.
And Young! He crushes into the list at 9.96 basic for the #3 spot, with his 9.94 FTW in Boston, making Lyles look pedestrian by comparison. He's looking like a real 100m guy, and this race was only 0.01 off his wind-legal basic PB, as far as I can tell.
Gatlin drops out of the top 10.
US trials look to be stacked, if everyone shows up healthy and ready.
Still no Caribbeans or Japanese in the top 10.
I look for Baker to maybe move up on this list. Gatlin, IDK--he might know that it's a very tall order this season, so might be deciding to make bank instead. He next runs this Friday, I think, in the Doha 200m.
Not including today, only 26 days until the men's 100m prelims at trials, on June 19...
Update 9 - May 30

14. Lyles 10.06 - 10.05 (0.2)
*. Simbine 9.86 - 9.99 (-3.0) 1274m
ISIAH YOUNG! Takes over the #1 spot with his 9.89 (0.2) FTW in Clermont, a raw and basic PB for him. He looks like he’s for real, but peaking too early? We will see. These are mad results from him.
Other than that, Lyles moves closer to the top-10, but no other news that I could find at the top of the men’s 100m.

*. Laird 9.94 - 9.80 (3.2)
Yeah thanks Swarthy. Maswanganyi sneaks in tied for 10th spot with his windless 10.04 ftw in his heat. Burnett just misses the extended list with his 10.12 (-0.7) in the same competition, 10.08 basic.
Lyles moves up from the extended list onto the main list, now tied for #10 at 10.04 with his 10.03 (0.3) on the elevated track in Boston. He is showing some creeping improvement in the 100.
I thought I would add Laird to the asterisk list, because he has been tearing up the track. We'll see if he can back it up somewhere.
RSA looking good on the basic list.

Femi Ogunode appears for the first time in a long time with his freestyle 10-flat ftw in the Doha non-Diamond-points 100m, tied for 10th at 10.04
The first round of the M100m at trials goes 2 weeks from tomorrow. This might be the last weekend for some guys to get a final race in before the last bit of training polish.
Getting serious now...
Update it again with Bromell 9.77
