I've found keeping a journal when you are recovering from an injury is very helpful to look back on . Keeping track of how you rehab, rest etc. is even more important than the miles run, and might prove invaluable to you if you wind up with the same injury a few years down the road.
I didn't always follow through with that. I have spaces of days and sometimes weeks that are blank in my log. I know it's due to injury, but really wish I'd kept a better account of things.
