Seems like it's about time to release that bad boy, any insiders here have the scoop?

i remember seeing it online at the adidas canada website
It's almost always ugly AF but really cool from a prestige standpoint

I have the 100th anniversary jacket I purchased on eBay. For nostalgia purposes. I wasn’t even running back then. It’s just nice to have part of history. It sits in a box in my closet. Still has the tags.
Anyway, I have a couple Boston shirts. They’re comfy and fit well. Both Nike and Adidas ones. I only wear them casually. No one ever stops to talk to me about running when I wear them. I wore a Boston shirt at a race once. People did talk to me about it then. I never wore it at a race again. I just wanted to wear a comfortable shirt that looked nice. Way too much “look at me” unfortunately.
Finally, I did a race and someone there was wearing a Boston jacket. He’d never run Boston before. He never even ran a marathon. Seemed tacky to me.
I have a few Boston jackets but never the official one with the giant logo on the back. The more subtle ones with the small logo on the front are actually pretty nice. Most people don’t even notice the logo which is just fine.
I much prefer this shirt because nothing says "I'm better than you" like it:

I love how they offer those "Qualified" shirts in 2XL size.
Chest 47"-51"
Waist 42-1/2"-47"
Hip 46"-49"
I am sure lots of people qualified with those dimensions. And I'm sure lots of people who never qualified will purchase these, too.
The Phoenix Marathon gave out free "Boston Qualifier" hats after the race to those that qualified a couple years ago. You had to get your race result printed off at a booth and then go show it to the people in charge of the hats. No qualifying time, no hat. You should need to show proof of qualifying to purchase these but all adidas wants is the money.

This year is the 124th, there was no race in 2020.

Don’t tell that to the instarunners. Every run is a race.
Some people managed to buy the 2021 Boston Marathon Celebration Jackets back in early December from the Canadian adidas website before the listing were pulled. There were never on the USA adidas website or any other website.

Oh no, it's 1996 again. At the time people were arguing that the 100th anniversary in 1996 was only the 99th because of the relay event held in 1917 or 1918. They tried to say the real 100th was 1997.
Regardless of what people feel about the 2020 virtual race (I think it was stupid), the BAA is counting it as the 124th so this fall will be the 125th.

Everything associated with 2020 may need an asterisk next to it. That includes professional sports seasons and any records. Look how college cross country teams ran one race for the entire season that was then used to determine who was invited to the NCAA championship meet.
Some Boston runners have each year they run the Boston Marathon embroidered onto the same jacket. Some are adding an asterisk next to 2020 on their jackets since it was a virtual race.
