My friend is 18 yo, he runs about 50 miles/week, he's more of an 800m runner and his training is focused the most on this distance.
He recently ran a 33:58 10k on road.
What do you think he can run on a Half with no specific preparation ?

With no preparation probably a bit under 1:17.
I'd say closer to 1:15
50miles/week isn't much but still enough to run 1:15
Yeah, I’d say 1:15ish. I ran a 1:19 on less mileage the same year I ran a 36:30 10K. That said, I’m nowhere near a good 800M runner. His endurance may not be as good as his speed.

this is what I was gonna guess. HM is a decent distance, so that could be give or take a couple mins depending on the particular runner's range.
I know a guy who ran 34:XX for 10k on pretty low mileage. He went out for a HM in 1:15, crashed at 10 miles and came home in 1:25. HM is further than you think if you're a low mileage type
More of an 800 runner? I’d say going for sub 1:18

^agree
50 mpw is enough to go 1:15-1:16 with that 10k time
1:14-1:15.
Trained 1:15ish. Without specific training on 50ish miles/weel maybe 1:16-18 range. Should be able to handle sub-6 miles easy but 5:40s for 13.1 probably needs a little more.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
