Saucony is better, much better for road running. My favorite is the endorphin speed.
HOKA
I have 600 miles on my Rincon 2's.
I also bought a pair of Triumph's by Saucony and they are horrible. Walking shoes now.
Currently am wearing the Hoka Clifton 7’s but have been having horrible blister problems on my right arch. Think it’s due to my over pronation. Really like the shoes but that’s def a negative. How are the rincons have been hearing great things but don’t wanna experience the same thing as the cliftons?

Funny you say that. I had blister problems for the first 50 miles of my Rincon 2's. After I broke them in, they are great to run in.
My second favorite shoe next to my pair of Novablast's by ASICS.

I have a pair of Rincon 2's also, my outsole has seemed to wear really quickly.

Samee, I love my novablasts right after my Endorphin speeds

The reputation of Hoka is shoes that are comfortable but don't last for many miles. Mine are going strong at 600. Very happy. Still look great.
The Endorphine Speeds are racers though...

I dont use the speeds as racers they are good for long slow runs to up tempo speed runs. I use the Endorphin Pros for racing. I love the asics novablast for a softer ride.

"I love the asics novablast for a softer ride."
I have a half marathon in Spokane this weekend. The Novablasts will keep my 54 year old knees from taking a beating.
Better for racing? Speeds or Pro's?
Pro is better for racing but more expensive since it has a carbon plate vs the nylon one in the speed
Just order my first pair of endorphin speeds and am very excited! Hoka Clifton 7’s have been my go to daily trainer even with the blister issues and I have about 80 miles on them right now so I doubt I haven’t “broken them in” yet. When the speeds come they may be my new go to shoe, but I like to rotate usually between two shoes so may have to find another one to replace the cliftons if the blisters still persist.
Endorphin line is all that's worth a damn from Saucony. The rest of their shoes are somewhat inferior to Hoka in engineering and materials. Saucony has long been the Chevy (good cosmetics but cheap everywhere else) of US shoe brands - Brooks, New Balance, Nike being the other mainstays. Even Skechers may have surpassed them (again, excepting the Endorphin line) though Under Armour may be the bottom of the barrel at this point.
I've run in the Saucony Triumphs for about 14 years now, they've worked out well for me. I was able to run consistent 70-80 mile weeks in them back in college with no injuries of note.
I did buy a pair of Hoka One One Cliftons once since they were on sale, they had more cushion and were pretty good on the roads. I could see myself buying Hokas more as I get older. The majority of my running friends over 40 years of age prefer Hokas.
For racing spikes and flats I've always gone with Nike.
I was a Nike guy back in my younger days. These days, Hoka. Running six days a week in the Clifton 7 right now, and I love them. Will stick with Hoka when these shoes are toast.
Great to see you buddy!

Nothing against the Rincon, but I don't think working through 50 miles of blisters is the mark of a great shoe. Many complain about outsole wear, so 600 miles is impressive.
I've enjoyed the Mach 4.
But in general, I think both companies have great options and a few duds.
High end premium cushion...
Triumph and Bondi are both great, but different rides. The new Triumph 19 that launches this summer will be .9 oz lighter than v18.
Endorphin Speed is simply awesome. They are sometimes mentioned in the same category as Mach 4, but I'd take the Speed any day for a tempo, workout or race. As a daily trainer, I prefer the broader base of the Mach.
Rides and Guides are just solid.
High end stability... The Hurricane 23 is exceptional.
Again, the Hoka ride is just different. Not necessarily better or worse. Some really like the higher stack/rocker combo. Some don't.
thanks for the heads-up. What problems did you face with Saucony Triumph's?
I do the majority of my training alternating between Saucony Kinvaras and Hoka Mach. I was between the Hoka Mach and Rincon but was told the Mach is a more durable shoe for someone looking to do the majority of their miles in them.
