I think Petros has done well but they were a VERY solid program before him. Please stop overstating.

So why it isn't on his Twitter??

Twitter or not, this is the best kept "known" secret in the NCAA track world.
Is he for sure going?
Is this a just negotiation ploy for a longer, more guaranteed contract, or for better facilities?
Did something happen?
Is there a better offer on the table somewhere at a different big school?
Is he starting a pro-team with a big-time sponsor?
Is he moving back to Europe/Greece/Cyprus, maybe to become the Head of a National Team?
Is he just burnt and wants a break?
He is going and must be on good terms as I have heard the transfer portal girls are planning to be coached by him through the Summer and Post-NCAA meets. The rumors are ridiculous but he is definitely leaving.
I'd heard he'd been asking not only for raise but also an indoor track. The amount he was asking for they did not get close to and no indoor facility is being built.
Petros never asked for a raise. Just upgrading their facilities (or lack of) the last 5 years. That’s about it.
His track just got renovated/resurfaced in 2017 (which is the most important thing). He also just got a 5 lane straight away with a LJ, and PV pits in the last couple of years. Plenty of SEC schools are successful with equal or less. Ole Miss, Florida etc. do not have one. I can see why the admin would tell him no considering.
You sound like the Georgia AD. Indoor area is a daily battle with football from what the athletes are describing. Outdoor track being resurfaced to cater to the public first then the track team. Also no lights or space to host a proper competition. Florida has great weather plus they can host major meets there (lights seating throws field etc). Ole miss comparison is way off lol. Georgia won ncaa titles with equal or actually worse facilities than ole miss.
I am extremely curious where Petros is heading to. I wonder if he is heading to a powerhouse with a great indoor facility such as Arkansas or A&M. Hmmm.
Texas to train with you since they got the greatest program in this galaxy.
I was told at one point a few years back he was asking for around $700k and he had told administrators he had other suitors who would pay him that
That’s incorrect. Stop making up crap. I’m close to that program and this never came up. He just wanted to upgrade his program’s facilities . Never asked for a raise.

Ole Miss has at minimum a similar quality program to UGA. They have podiumed in XC, come top 10 at nats and actually have a team that can compete for SEC titles. Petros has benefitted the most from the National championship set up being a complete joke now for outdoor. Bama has won SEC's without an indoor as well.
UGA is hosting a pretty high level meet this week, so their track being subpar is pretty BS. It's basically a brand new facility. If that was really the issue he should ask for lights, that probably a cost the AD would be fine with as opposed to a multi- million dollar indoor facility. I have no idea what the football situation is, but I'm assuming it is very do-able with a little flexibility. Obviously, it will be used on occasion during prime football hours. Additionally, this is the same at every AD, if he doesn't think he'll be taking a back seat to football, basketball, or some other sport at every AD in the country he's either at like Adams State, Oregon or kidding himself. Acting like he's training on cement or something is a gross misinterpretation.
2 ncaa titles and 15 tip 5 finishes a not comparable to Alabama or ole miss. Stop making crap up. He’s leaving and that’s good for him and for UGA granted they don’t wanna invest in a championship program facility.
Also UGa got 3rd and 5th indoors so not sure what ‘set up to be a complete joke outdoors’. Get your facts straight
Not making up anything. This was from someone in the program.
Well very NOT true. Almost a joke knowing how petros operates.
So where is Petros going since you are so close with UGA program, dawgs45dawg?
Says you.
UGA came back with 430k base offer + bonus 75% of that with top 3 finish for either gender so an additional, potential 322.5k bonus.
Top 3 at nationals that is.
