Hi
Recently got a Garmin Forerunner 45. Love it. However every 10-15k I run it pegs my average HR at 177bpm. I'm 25, so my max HR is probably around 195. This puts me consistently in zone 5 and seems to be considerably higher than most peoples average HR that I'm reading. I run at a comfortable pace, probably zone 3/4 for the most part. At the end I sprint the last 400m usually and my HR climbs to 189~.
Is the problem with the HR monitor, or have I got an actual issue with my heart here? I'm barely even hitting full speed for my runs and yet seem to have such a high heart rate, wondering if I need to visit the doctors?
Furthermore, it makes it impossible to know where I'm at training based off HR.
I've been advised that it's cadence lock, but my cadence is 165~ and I've tried to tighten the watch more to avoid this. Should I wear it on the inside of my wrist maybe?!
Thanks
I've put a photo of my 10k today at a comfortable pace throughout showing my HR being so damn high the whole time.
