He’s an idiot for wanting teachers to actually earn their salaries? The salaries are paid for by tax payers.
What about college students? Are they idiots for wanting their teachers to actually work while the student still pays full tuition for decreased service?

They are also refusing to end remote learning. The vast majority care nothing about the kids. The union leadership are absolute leftist propaganda terrorists.
Ignoring the ignorance of this post but what is the harm in waiting until the fall and ensuring a safer scenario? Some of the return plans are garbage. Some cities and states are ahead of others. Most teachers should be vaccinated now but the doses come a month apart and then there's a waiting period to get up to full effectiveness. Now you have to make sure everyone else working in the building or coming to the building is at the same level. We're not there yet. That'll likely be the summer. So why demonize teachers who have been grinding through online learning? They work hard. Attacking teachers is one of the laziest moves out there.
Let’s just get rid of the teaching profession altogether. The same goes for nurses, police officers, and fire fighters. They are all overpaid and unnecessary.
We need more pro athletes, actors, lobbyists, donut shops, and running websites. These are the things that are necessary for society.

Maybe instead of watching the mainstream news, just go outside your house once in a while. Things aren’t that bad.
In one of my kid's schools the teachers are back but most of the students chose to stay remote. My son is doing well because there are only about 6 kids in his class; before the pandemic he was one of 34

I'm in Indiana. My teacher buddies have been back in the classroom since February I believe. All the teachers I know are fully vaccinated at this point and don't really care about getting covid anymore. It's no biggie.
Here's a thought: maybe actually treat teachers a little better and be willing to pay them more and maybe, maybe, you'll see more quality teachers. You think most teachers are sticking around to deal with your bleep hole kids only to be treated the way some in this thread treat them? ha ha ha.
Teachers have been working harder than before with hybrid classes and learning new teaching methods on the fly.
Plus more meetings and training than ever.

I’ve always thought it strange that someone would go into a profession such as teaching when they dislike kids.
It's not the kids that makes the job hard or unpleasant.
It's the parents and the administrators.
The adults.
I live in a red state completely governed by the GOP top to bottom.
Our teachers have been in school teaching in person the entire time during covid. All of our restaurants and bars have been open. All of our business remained open. There is no mask mandates.
What are you guys doing in the Blue states?
