Who else is in the race? Against the likes of Hoppel, Brazier etc he could run fast, but if he's gotta frontrun paced by a HS pacer that struggles to run sub 52 for 400m...he'll likely run 1:50...

“Burn out” from NCAA racing is overhyped. Plenty of runners have made it through two successful NCAA seasons and performed well at USAs.
You're seriously a moron

I could compile a list of athletes who have had successful NCAA indoor and outdoor seasons and then qualified for Olympic or WC teams, but it would be so extensive I don’t want to undertake it.
I seem to be getting to the age where someone hurling a baseless “You’re a moron” at me doesn’t bother me one bit. It’s nice.

I think a first lap on 53-54 would be helpful for Centro at this stage of the season. If the highscooler could hold this pace for further 100m Centro would all chances to prove that he still have the finish to go sub 1:48 which would bode well for the 1500m trials.
But I doubt that Centro still has it. I think he is close to career stop.

You seem to be forgetting the most obvious case. Bryce hoppel was undefeated all year in track and then went to run in Doha in 2019 without breaks. Doha was in SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER. So who is the moron here?

I also hope for his sake that he runs faster than 1:46.60. Otherwise, he will have to live with so many comments...
So level 1 is faster than 1:49.76. Hang up the spikes. Pick a new hobby.
Level 2 is faster than 1:46.60. Stay off the Internet for a while.

He is hiding from the 1500 so that he does not get embarrassed again. 👎
Wtf, why is so many hating on Centro? Never liked him that much but his accolades must be respected, he’s far and away the best American born miler in a long time. His aggro online wasn’t that hateworthy.
(jenny simpson > centro)
he's kevin durant-like

There’s some precedent of him running slower than 1:46.60 early/mid season and faring well at 1500 when it counted:
2011 - 1:50.9 in April, 1:47.8 in July; 3rd in WC 1500
2012 - 1:48.4 & 1:47.7 in July; 4th in Olympic 1500
2013 - 1:47.9 in May; 2nd in WC 1500
2015 - 1:48.5 in May, 1:44.6 lifetime best in June; 8th in WC 1500
2016 - 1:47.7 in June, 1:47.2 in July; Olympic 1500 champion in August
2017 - 1:49.4 in May, 1:49.1 in July; ousted in WC 1500 prelims
2018 - 1:53.3 in March, 1:52.9 & 1:48.4 in May, 1:48.3 in June; U.S. 1500 champion and 3:31.8 at Monaco
The magic number I’m looking for to indicate he’s on track is sub-1:49.0, but even if he misses that it’s not the end of the world. 1:46.59 would be a surprisingly great result.
man... 1:51ish?
he'll be fine with some more 800s and 15s
Centro 1:50.97. Yikes
I think it’s safe to say that centro is DONE. 1:50.9 for 6th? At this point Cole SHOCKER would lap him in a 1500
I'm afraid you're right. He didn't look strong at all.

Woof... almost 1:51, that's a HS time ;-)
