Apparently he was pacing his teammate to sub 9 for the first 6 laps. Kid’s looking fit.
LRC addition. Harrison has made a video about the race

Kessler ram 8:39 closing in a 55. I know who I’m taking...
Real question is are they ever going to go head-to-head this year?
I'm curious to how this can be an official time (state record even) when he ran in Vaporfly that are no longer legal to use on the track?!

It's legal in high school. Think it's just World Athletics who've banned, and their jurisdiction doesn't stretch everywhere.

He is generally correct but there are always exceptions so let us say that some high school kid ran a 7:57 2 mile in the vapors I suppose one could then say he is the high school record holder but not the world record holder.
Theoretically it could be banned in high school but that'd probably be at a state level or something. Super-spikes are better, anyhow and even just a normal high-quality distance spike is superior as well. I know some subscribe to the idea that it saves your legs, which is a different thing.
Not bad for a junior. What's the junior class record?
8:40 by Nico Young (I think?)

Yep. Kesseller crushed about half the 2 mile competition but there are still a bunch of mile guys that I would love to see race. And of course none of these guys should be peaking until like 8 weeks from now...

8;29

I think he is asking junior class aka 11th grade age record. You nimwits forget this kid is only a junior as in 11th grade....not “junior” aka below senior records
Very impressive and more to come, based on that workout and this 2:01 close. Surely, sub-8:40 2M would happen in a college level race.

If you use conversions, Drew Hunter is #1 A-T for 3200/2-mile
https://www.milesplit.com/rankings/events/high-school-boys/outdoor-track-and-field/3200m?year=all&grade=junior&conversion=yHarrison's run would put him 12th - 13th or so on the all-time junior list.
Looks like Harrison's run is about 60th all-time for all grades in the 3200.

That is what I answered, The asterisk indicates the runner was a junior in high school.
Lukas was an 11th grader when he ran 8:29.

That post blew up in your face,
The list is the all time US high school list, not the junior list.
