I woke up this morning and my neck was very, very painful whenever I moved around.
It's gotten a bit better throughout the day but is still quite uncomfortable.
I tried applying ice and some heat. Any tips?

Sorry to hear.
Take it easy for a little bit. I don't really have any good tips other than you need to get out of the house more.
I try to get outside at least twice a day. Today I did a very painful walk in the early morning of about 2.5 miles and later did another one of about 3.5 miles.
Would have run today were it not so painful, have run 3 days prior to day without interruption.
Google says this:
How to ease neck pain at home
If you have minor neck pain or stiffness, take these simple steps to relieve it:
Apply ice for the first few days. After that, apply heat with a heating pad, hot compress, or by taking a hot shower.
Take OTC pain relievers, such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
Take a few days off from sports, activities that aggravate your symptoms, and heavy lifting. When you resume normal activity, do so slowly as your symptoms ease.
Exercise your neck every day. Slowly stretch your head in side-to-side and up-and-down motions.
Use good posture.
Avoid cradling the phone between your neck and shoulder.
Change your position often. Don’t stand or sit in one position for too long.
Get a gentle neck massage.
Use a special neck pillow for sleeping.
Don’t use a neck brace or collar without your doctor’s approval. If you don’t use them properly, they can make your symptoms worse.
You need to take it easy Greg. You are disabled and now your neck is an issue. Take it easy.

Well I think I'll remover from this fairly quickly, it already feels a bit better.
Thank-you Zwicks Pretzels (and curious, why did you choose that name? Gotta admit, occasionally I've been tempted to buy pretzels in the grocery aisle only because I remember your user name)
I Googled this stuff earlier today. Might ice a bit more in a moment.
For Emoemo: It'[s interesting you say I'm 'disabled' and I know I get made fun of on here for that.
I had my hair cut today, I got a free cut from a student barber where they go to barber school.
I have to admit I felt a bit guiltt when I was talking to the barber when he asked what I was doing for the day.
Sometimes I do feel a bit guilty around people working when I am on assistance.
But, I know the reason I receive the assistance is because I couldn't stick at jobs and the assistance allows me to survive, which I was struggling to do without it.
Apply for a job at Tim Hortons NOW !
Why, because you said so?
I've worked at a coffee shop before.
Why don't you work at Tim's?

Greg, you don't know Zwick's Preztels?
You really need to get out more. They are right of 107 ave NW
12415 107 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 1Z2 to be exact.
And they might cure your neck problem as well.

I did not know about them, but keep in mind I live downtown and don't drive.
Do you drive? Most people in Edmonton do. I've walked around there a few times when I'd go to the Westmount Wal mart to pick up a few things and take the bus home.
Most of the time though I don't go to that neighbourhood.
I rarely eat out unless it's ordering pizza, and I haven't done that since the first of last month.
I'm thinking of trying this place, which is in my neighbourhood:
https://viphalay.comI've been to this place a few times as well, which is actually close to the Pretzel place you mentioned:

He is a freeloader..
No one asked for your opinion. I qualify for assistance. Mind your own business.

See a chiropractor. Ask around for the name of a good one. It's a simple adjustment that only takes a few seconds. I have it done a couple of times a month.

My previous post was a bit flippant. I apologize. But aren't you able-bodied? You qualify for aßistance but your life can't be fulfilling doing nothing. Maybe go volunteer at ladies shelter. Homeless shelter. Anything to help others.
Take some ibuprofen or a similar NSAID. Hope it feels better soon. A stiff neck really sucks.

Thanks, I think I need a better pillow.
I've had this issue before, it's usually gone in a day or two.

Yep good idea.

No such thing as a good chiropractor. They do nothing helpful. Snake oil salesmen. Stop with this nonsense. You are a fool to throw your money away.
Greg,
Can you say, Ashiatsu?

Sadly, nearly all Greg posts get deleted and I don’t know why.
