I’m looking to run a few 5k road races in late April-May, is the Nike vaporfly next percent the best option? Also how many miles can I expect it to last before it loses its “pop”?

Yup
Yes. Don't know. Do you remember the nike mayfly - that was meant to last 150 miles before you weren't meant to use it any more?
I like the adidas Light Strikes more but it’s honestly all preference with any of the new super shoes nowadays cause they are all pretty much identical in terms of return.
Sure seems like yes, but probably worth noting that an athlete like Rhonex Kipruto has shown that for some a lightweight flat (Takumi Sen for him) is not a distinct disadvantage as he ran 26:24 for 10K in them. So you can either go for a super-light shoe or a heavier super-shoe in the 5-10K. In the HM and Full, it's probably indisputable that the super-shoes are a huge advantage over any sort of flats.
Imho, the Next % is indeed the best choice.
