There's a hint that they understand the situation at deeper level than their blathering lets on, yet they write 500 words trying to convince themselves of the callous alternative.
Compassion is a finite resource. There are only x number of doctors and nurses available to help the sick and injured. The data is undeniable about excess weight and COVID-19. We are lucky that the infection fatality rate is only 0.6%. One year ago, there were predictions that the IFR would be 3%. Calamity did not occur THIS time.
When it comes to pandemics, COVID-19 is an amateur.
