SNL had gay superheroes back in the 90s. They were way ahead of their time.
Right on.
...and that skit would get the show canceled immediately, were it to run this coming Saturday.
Exactly.
He apparently has a side kick. And keeping with the military theme of Captain, instead of Bucky, he will be called the Rear Admiral.
Isn't it stereotyping to display the gay teen as tatted and pierced? If he is under 18, who authorized those tats and piercings?

Yep, that's the thread killer.

You meant spider trans but didnt know it. It shoots sticky webs from the crotch area, ignited by a belt button push and follow up thrusting for extra trajectory.
Hahaha good lord. I thought captain American and most super heroes were already gay?! How do they know a characters sexual disposition in the first place if they never talk about it in the first place??
So queer captain America is skinny with no muscles? lol they must know many gay men.
"Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh this is FABULOUS!"
. . . said no comic book fan.

Well I don't really see how that's targeting people with a sexual agenda any more than a straight teen Captain America is?
Why didn't this trash thread just stop here. Why does representation threaten some people so much? There are so many comics out there. Find your straight superhero if you don't want to read this. Nobody is forcing it on you.

It's just marketing. They know that not only do articles of this nature spread like wildfire, but they also often result in a strong emotional response from the reader which benefits them regardless of whether the response is positive or not.
Movies are fluff these days. Generic scripts, templated production, and trailers/marketing often mean more than the actual quality of the movie itself. For as long as people keep spreading and talking about articles like this, you will continue to see them though and it's because they work for their intended purposes
There is nothing wrong with having more gay characters in the media we watch, but it's clear that making publicity stunts out of them is just a means of using social issues to the studio's advantage (which is fair business really, it's just unfortunate that people eat this s*** up like candy).
This. I wish content creators would focus more on the art and less on the marketing aspect, but that's just the nature of the business right now - to garner as much attention as possible. As for gay Captain America, it seems like they are trying to appeal to the narcissistic, woke types who will self-high five themselves for reading the book and publicly celebrating this "amazing LGBTQDFJLSJDF moment." Most people probably won't care and the books will probably end up losing money or breaking even.
Man his utility belt is going to be AH-mazing!
Awesome. Nothing like a virtue signaling comic that will only sell in San Fran or Seattle where most of the weak progressive men live.
It will be thoroughly ignored in the rest of America.
