Players have been suspended without any criminal conviction. His crimes are horrendous and even a 1/10 if it is true he should be locked up for 20 years. If it was a white guy everyone would be protesting. He needs to be banned forever.

We still have due process in this country

Joe Biden and all the women in Congress say the women accusers need to be believed.
Need to slow down with that kind of talk, let's see how this goes. Something seems fishy to me, gut feeling.

We still do have due process but that was thrown out the window for Matt Kavanaugh, and for Clarence Thomas and for Robert Bork. You Libs only care about due process when one of your own is accused. Pathetic.

The SI story is pretty damn convincing... And the lady making the claim is not part of the lawsuit. And her account was verified contemporaneously.
https://www.si.com/nfl/2021/03/29/first-hand-story-of-deshaun-watson-inappropriate-behavior-not-in-lawsuitGive this some time, something just not right about this.
Wasn't it SI who had the sun coming up on the west coast?
Ray Rice was clearly guilty since he was caught on video knocking his girlfriend unconscious. He was suspended for two games and then sued the Ravens for back pay after they released him. He won the lawsuit and was reinstated to play in the NFL but no team signed him.
I doubt Watson will be banned but I don't know if any team will ever sign him to a contract again.

What are you talking about? There were hearings for Thomas and Kavanaugh and their accusers and then they were confirmed. How is that not due process?
Bork was never accused of any kind of sexual misconduct. His views were just too controversial and he lost support of some Republicans.

You had Dems in Congress and Joe Biden saying all of Kavanaugh's accusers should be believed. They never said that Tara Reade should be believed when she said Joe Biden assaulted her. Which is it ... All women accusers should be believed or only those who were assaulted by Repubs?

I think the NFL will move at a glacial pace on this one. This feels like it has potential to be the tip of the iceberg and if they banish DeShaun too early, it will set a precedent to do the same once other players are outed.

No one said they should just be believed but that they should be heard. Do you disagree with that? Reade was proven to be a chronic liar but Anita Hill and Christine Ford had the courage to come forward with their story in a very public setting.

With all that money, you would think he would be smarter. Could’ve gotten lots of happy endings elsewhere.
Yeah cuz sports illustrated is always so honest and would never report lies. Remember this a few years ago?
Change the 1 to an i and the link works
Peyton Manning sexually assaulted a trainer when he was in college, and got away with it. He's on TV doing commercials even though he retired years ago. Everyone loves him.

I don't remember the story but those articles provide little evidence of any improprieties by SI other than a bunch of football players going on the record with misleading personal accounts and then recanting their story when it blows up in their face. CTE?
SI claimed one guy said he graduated in 2005. Later ESPN found out he didn't graduate. That's not really SI's fault. They aren't going to investigate every immaterial claim given by someone on the record. That's why it's on the record. Blame the football player who spells "worte" or "articale" multiple times in his tweet and ask him about the quality of his education.
