I know Sage trolls these boards. Let's allow the resident expert to weigh in on this.
I know Avery Collins is all about the nugs, but is Walmsley et al into it too?
Thank you in advance. You're the man, Sage!

Okay I'll bite. Personally I follow USADA/WADA code to a T when it comes to THC (mainly banned in competition) but the threshold to trip a "positive" is 150 ng/mL. Honestly I don't really know what that means in terms of THC consumption and timing, but that's one of the rules and I follow them. I personally don't believe that THC is really much of a performance enhancer in distance running (and I don't think that's why the rule is in place actually). I think more efforts should be focused on bigger, actual PED stuff like HGH and testosterone (and even EPO) which has been shown to be more rampant in the sport...but again there is hardly any testing in ultra-trail mountain running anyway.

soo in other words you get hella hiii sometimes maybe certainly??
Did not know the testing was so limited. You'd think the fact that the sport is international in nature and "limited" to specific large events that they'd manage to test at these large events.
I agree actual performance enhancers are what needs to be focused on. People getting tripped by tainted CBD gummies is kind of lame and there's no way it helps that much.
Weed is great (when not smoked) for recovery purposes. Take it after a hard workout to knock out or even on easy runs to help stay relaxed.
my og q has not been addressed -- is jim walmsley smoking that loud?
Where are the Walmsley fanboys when you need them?
THC helps with nausea.
While Sage is a pretty open guy on here, he doesn't actually hang out with and train with Wamsley, so he's kinda the wrong person to be asking, isn't it? Need to ask one of his Cowboys.
Anyway, given that THC is really only banned during competition isn't this a bit like asking if he knows if Jim drinks beer? Maybe Jim smokes weed, maybe he doesn't, but who cares?
Sativa baby !
but how would he know wrote:

we care! a lot!
In the track world, Chris Barnicle and Noah Droddy are the only two I know who have been open about the past.... well Barnicle is still a living legend
Not super loud but yeah Jim has been known to fck with that GAS from time to time. Heard Sage dabs with the best of them tho.
Fookin Barnicle. What a silly man
Hempheads don't make good runners.
and now we have a plausible explanation for Bekele getting chubby

They do test extensively at the real competitive events though
No they don’t actually. The only time I’ve been legit tested (at a USADA/WADa enforced level) was after winning the Pikes Peak ascent when it was the WMRA world champs. Otherwise all other “tests” (think like ITRA QUARTZ) are a joke in my experience. I mean I yeah a few guys have been caught at UTMB/Comrades over the years, but compared to road marathons and track events the testing is super lax in ultra-trail

Thanks for the good looking, honest answers, Sage.
