I’m in my gf’s bathroom and noticed some weird medication on the counter. I read it and notice it’s growth hormone in a syringe. I was pretty abrasive when I asked “why do you have this?”
She tells me she used to give it to her son because he was “too small.” He was actually bigger than me at the same age. Height and weight. He’s currently much heavier than I was and maybe a little shorter. Both parents are 5’4” average build.
It did bother me but I shrugged it off. New relationship so I figured leave it alone unless it’s a problem. But it is a problem. He hadn’t even hit puberty and she was already making the decision to change his physiology. The drugs themselves are expensive and seem like a massive waste of $$$.
Have you heard of anything like this? I know adults who’ve injected. But kids is way beyond the scope of what I thought was medically responsible.
