I'm a collegiate runner, I've been injured on and off since august of last year. I attribute this to being weak and having bad nutrition. I have since fixed this. I was just cleared to begin training again. I have to make the decision of 1) begin training for 5k distance and time trial in the end of may beginning of June then go into preparing for cross country. or 2) begin base building now and working on getting stronger. Im leaning towards the second option as I think I could use that to my advantage in cross country next fall. However, I don't want to waste my time.
What do you think is my best option?
