I would bet my house on centrowitz making the team over hocker.

Hocker is making the team. His kick is too lethal.

800 - Brazier, Hoppel, Murphy
1500 - Centro, Engels, Hocker
5000 - Chelimo, Fisher, Klecker
10000 - Lomong, Kincaid, Jenkins
Expect some funny business in terms of who runs what for the 5/10 - I doubt the BTC guys will double if they qualify and a teammate is in 4th with the standard.

I tend to agree with most of this. I honestly think Brazier would qualify in the 1500 if he tried, but that's a big MF if.
800- Hoppel surprises Brazier
1500- Engels, Centro, Hocker
5000- Fisher, Klecker, Mcgorty
10000- Parker Stinson, Eric Jenkins
Marathon- Parker Stinson, Galen Rupp,

Will you be the one to finally tell me what happened to Parker Stinson? It started out of legitimate curiosity but now Im kind of annoyed. Did he commit murder or something? Ive had 4 threads on the subject deleted.
ok, now with updated fields...

I think Fisher will make the 10000 team and scratch the 5000. Lomong will double back but will give up his spot to Kincaid.

Schweizer and Cranny will elect not to double back, allowing Sisson Infeld Huddle Hall and Schneider to battle it out
I think stalwarts of the sport whom others seem to doubt - Gatlin, Simpson, Rowbury, and Huddle - will make these Olympics (their 4th, 4th, 4th, and 3rd teams, respectively)
If Centro makes the team it won't be in the 1500m. That ship has sailed.
Simply not true. He will hock em down the stretch just like last time.
It would be miraculous to see True break through. He's been trying for so long, but who knows.
Why are Hilary Bor or Cooper Teare not in the running?
I would do
10K: Emmanuel Bor, Lopez Lomong, Ben True
5K: Paul Chelimo, Grant Fisher, Woody Kincaid
3KSt: Anthony Rotich, Hilary Bor, Andrew Bayer (I don't know, I'm guessing Evan Jager gets hit in a freak accident, a boy can dream, can't he)
1500: Craig Engels, Matt Centrowicz, Cooper Teare
800: Bryce Hoppel, Donovan Brazier, Isiah Jewell

Yeah, you're right. I'd still take Hocker over those two just because Engels and Thompson haven't looked amazing this year. But if Hocker is burned out from going all in at NCAAs, he's definitely vulnerable.
That’s fair. It is common for a young guy to slip in, so I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Hocker or Nuguse make the team. Teare maybe. But I also don’t think it’s unreasonable for the OP to go with guys who have been there.
I like seeing Notre Dame alumni do well on the world stage and I'd love a reason to believe in Nuguse but why? His PR is only 3:38, right?
Based on what we've seen so far this year:
800: 1) Brazier 2) Hoppel 3) Sowinski
1500: 1) Teare 2) Hocker 3) Prakel
5000: 1) Fisher 2) Bor 3) McGorty
10000: 1) Fisher 2) Kincaid 3) True
D. Hunter .. bum status..?!

From two years ago before super spikes when he was 19 and went on to win NCAAs, yes. I’m not saying he will make the team, but I am saying it would be silly to count that talent out just because you haven’t seen him in a 1500 in two years.

1500m men:
Cooper Teare
Cole Hocker
Craig Engels?
I don´t know why almost everyone has forgotten Cooper Teare? He is the fastest American miler this year with a a mile time which converts to low 3:33 in the 1500m.
Closely followed by Cole Hocker.
They only question is if they are not at their best at the trials after the NCAA outdoors. But why shouldn´t they be able to keep their good shape from NCAA in the end of May to the trials in the middle of June. They should just relax a bit in the meantime to be fresh at the trials.
I´m more uncertaion about number 3 choosing Engels because he ssems to be the best of the rest.
As I have argued in several other threads: Centro seems far from his best. Centro hasn´t been able to show any particular finishing speed the last several years including Doha 2019 where he was not able to hang on to the likes of Makhloufi, Lewandowski and Jakob.
And I find it most likely that he has gone further backwards from 2019 to 2021.
