Next, on her debut, should be Delvine Meringor. Best at the half is 67.48 when 7th in Houston in 2019. Was impressive over 15k in 2018 when winning in Mersin, Turkey in 48.36. Did previously attempt a marathon in Osaka early last year but couldn't finish. -

Next might be Eric Kiptanui if he can complete a marathon for the second time. In his debut he was second in Dubai early last year in 2.06.17. Has run 58.42 in a half in Berlin in 2018. -
Third woman could be Tigist Abayechew, who gets quicker with every marathon she completes. Fourth in Dubai in Jan last year in 2.22.45.

Fourth to complete this classic distance could be the ‘other’ Marius, Marius Kimutai, due to be able to represent Bahrain from the day before the Olympic Marathon. PB of 2.05.47 when third in Amsterdam in 2016 and only 17 sec slower the next year when winning Rotterdam. -
Next woman should be the consistent Angela Tanui, best of 2.25.19 when fourth in Istanbul in 2019. That same year was second in Vienna only 19 sec slower and in 2017 was fifth in Vienna in 2.26.31. Won a 10k at Langeaux as a 21yo in 2014 in 31.51.
-
Fifth here and only 22yo, may be Fikre Bekele. Best when fourth in Seoul in 2019 in 2.06.27. Also won Frankfurt that year in 2.07.08.
-
I have some catching up to do. Lots of time tonight and tomorrow.
-
Next woman must be Ruth Chebitok who has a top ten finish in a major. PB of 2.23.29 when third in Toronto in 2018 and won Gold Coast that year.

Next might be a former podium finisher in Berlin, Abera Kuma, if he chooses this airport over Zwolle. PB of 2.05.50 when second in Rotterdam in 2018. Poor since with four finishes outside 2.08. His Berlin time was also sub 2.06 in 2014. -
Sixth female should be Purity Changwony, PB of 2.24.30 when 5th in Seville in Feb last year

Neither of them up yet. Seventh may be Yihunilign Adane who was one of 11 running together in the last km in Dubai last year battling for a paid top ten performance. He was sixth then in 2.06.22 -
7th woman could be Rahma Tusa. For me, the last of the class marathoners just ahead of the potentially great. Three times in a row winner of Roma, the final time in her PB of 2.23.46. That same year of 2018 also included a fifth in New York in 2.27.13. In 2017 won Guangzhou in 2.25.12. An upset win here puts her into my top 30 in the world.

Eighth might be the World Champ as a 19yo, Ghirmay Ghebreslassie of Eritrea. PB is from a 4th in London in 2016 in 2.07.46. Also fourth that year at the Rio Olympics and won New York. -
8th should be Gebeyanesh Ayele, PB of 2.26.54 when third in Hengshui in 2018. in 2017 on the day Galen won Chicago, Ayele won a 20k in Paris in 66.02.

Today, the day before his 36th birthday, I am choosing that runner-up for 9th place. Yemane Tsegay also was second in Boston that year. PB from 2012 when he won Rotterdam in 2.04.48. Hasn't competed in a marathon since 2018. 2018 brought a win in Ottawa and second in Fukuoka, both in just under 2.09. -

Ninth woman may be, if she chooses here over the NN event in the Netherlands, Haven Hailu.
