What? Why would Nike pay Kofuzi?!? Ridiculousness.
oh believe me, I agree. It sounds ridiculous. I would like the link to the video as well
OK, saw the thread back, saw a post questioning mine, replied. Get to the next page and see all kinds of uproar about this Kofuzi thing. Here's what I know: I watched one a few years ago just because it popped up on the YT list. Hadn't heard of him at the time. Saw a little bit of a shoe review in which he apologizes profusely for putting a NB shoe on his annual top-3. Didn't sit through the whole thing. I think it was in another one too, that he implied the Nike thing also.
Would have been a vid from the same year. Maybe what he meant was Nike sends him stuff. That could be what he the truth really was but he said it vaguely enough that sounded to me like there was $$ involved.
Surprised none of you saw the one(s) that I remember. It was a couple years ago and there's no way I'm find it now. I watched a total of about 4 minutes of this dude's stuff and it was clear he was a Swoosh shill - or so he claimed, but it seemed realistic to me at the time. I'm not going to try to look through hundreds of posts to find him saying that. Could have been true but just for a short period; could have been bragging and making it seem bigger than it was; cold NOT be that I misunderstood the loyalty angles since I very clearly remember deciding not to watch this guy any more since he's biased in Nike's favor.
Anyway, I will not debate whether it is worthwhile for any brand to pay Kofuzi or (more likely) just give him gear. I don't know how many views he gets or how many really dig him and pay attention. I don't watch him and am not influenced by him. He doesn't show up on a prospective list from YT any more. I guess they see I don't watch and am not going to.
Anyway, whether or not they did this clown any favors or convinced him to kiss their butt for a year, I am not saying he claimed SJD was getting anything from them. I don't claim such either, but Seth is so incredibly loyal to Nike that I wouldn't find it unbelievable. I also find it very plausible that he's not.
