As the title suggests, I have run a workout of 12x400 with 400 meter jog recovery. The total time for active recovery was around 3 minutes (we had to wait a little bit for the guys in the back to come back), and I will admit it was not fast. The temperature was around 84 and very dry (the first warm day we've had in a while). The plan was to run only 5:40 pace (1:25 per 400m), and the results, well, here are the results:
1:25
1:24
1:20 (coach told us to speed up)
1:21
1:18 (at this point I'm freaking out)
1:17 (still feels relaxed)
1:14 (my legs started to speed up on their own)
1:21 **
1:18
1:16
1:17
1:18 (Yes, I know I slowed down, I am kind of disappointed in myself)
** This rep my watch wouldn't start. I went probably 2-3 seconds late. it would be around 1:19 or so.
That was the workout. 400 meter jog recovery. I stuck with my teammates for a first time in a long time. my SVT stayed out of the way today. So of course the question remains:
Based on this workout what 1600 meter time should I go for on Wednesday (first meet of the season)? + I also am running the 800 so that prediction will also be helpful i understand it isnt an 800 workout
