I got an MRI about 3 weeks ago, after having some hip/groin pain. MRI showed “mild bone marrow edema at the superior pubic rami” close to the pubic symphysis. The report says it’s due to micro trauma from running. However, my doctor was unconcerned and said this was normal. I started back up running again as my groin pain had mostly subsided. After doing 30 miles my second week back, I developed a deep ache in both groins, with an odd sensation like there was something “caught” or pinched. I saw my PT who fears a stress injury, especially after hearing that I had bone marrow edema on the MRI. He called my doctor who has referred me to a hip specialist. Unfortunately it will be another 2 weeks until I can get in and I’m going crazy wondering what this is. Does anyone have any insight? I can weight bear no problem, and it’s more of a tightness than an outright pain. Biking doesn’t seem to aggravate it— is this something I should continue doing? Thanks all.
