Baldvin Magnusson, a sophomore at Eastern Michigan University, smashed the old Iceland national record by running 13:45 at last night's Raleigh Relays. This is his second national record in the last couple months as he set the 3,000 record by running 7:53.
New Icelandic record in the 5,000

He's a British product with respect to his running in his youth.

Very happy to see this. -
Good.
Surtr is appeased. -
Got BLASTED by Naguse in last lap. Doesn't even have a faster mile than HIGH SCHOOLERS. Iceland has a secret DOPING scandal, mark my words. Not even better than jakob ingebrigtsen, who is YOUNGER than him. Has anyone ever seen his REAL birth certificate? FISHY. Great 10k pr as well, might place in the top 3 of the women's conference meet with that.

Iceland has a smaller population that Wichita, Kansas. What they do in sports is darn good for their size.

Definitely impressive. The men's soccer team always does well. They can probably beat the US men's national team 9 times out of 10. -
Don't forget Hlynur Andresson. Icelands greatest ever distance runner.
Just ran a 2:13 in a windy cold Dresden. Could be good for a sub 2:10 in an ideal race. Has run 1:02 in the half last year!! Think that would have put him in the top 15 in the US last year. -
I was at the meet, that guy has a big old set of BALLS on him for taking the lead when it started to slow down and HAMMERING. Honestly don't know how he was able to drag those swollen testicles of his around the track at that pace. He is only 21 also... he is listed as a sophomore but this is his third year so he is the appropriate age.
