https://gostanford.com/news/2016/3/23/210827132.aspxYou may be premature. A DNF or DNS is not a win as I understand it. I guess no pacemakers either?
Busy west coast weekend:
Stanford Invitational, Sound Running College Invite and Hayward Premiere
I'm just asking but wouldnt she DNS if the only participant? Nobody is going to make the entire stadium wait around for 32 minutes or so no? Do your own solo TT if you want amirite?

But the Stanford Track is short, everybody knows that! Bring on that PR!

Well it appears her best is 34:41 so you might have quite a wait.
Suppose she DNFs, RoJoke.
one thing that caught my eye is Katie Rainsberger in the steeple chase
Stanford has been like this for a while, now. When Oregon started their premier meet the same weekend, all the distance runners ended up switching to that meet. Then college teams got sick of splitting squads, so some started bringing their sprinter/jumpers along to Oregon as well.
It's really just a high school meet at this point. The college meet is pretty mostly just a sham so that it counts as an official meet for ncaa requirements for Stanford. Only a few jumps and a random sprinter or two will be semi competitive any given year, usually a few athletes who arent quite good enough to justify flying all over the country but still enjoys competing.

Raleigh is this weekend, the other meets next weekend.
sound running isn’t having a meet that weekend
My alma mater used to send people to Stanford but they were kind of a pain. Our school wasn't DI and the meet organizers were iffy about letting our team members in the meet. I remember two of our team members were flown out there and the meet organizers basically stated they would let them know the night before or day if they would be allowed in the race. Fortunately they were. However, they just send their athletes to Raleigh now. It's closer, less hassle, and they can run the same times.
How is that even possible? No other woman from UCLA/Stanford (at least) has a decent enough mark or isn't going to focus 10k this year??
Will any spectators be allowed?
