SunBelt is a G5 league but in terms of XC many schools struggle due to location, in terms of training environment and existing in the SEC footprint. In terms of gear/scholarships I think many are pretty well off given the number of internationals that compete in that league. UALR has really struggled in the league though.
Location wise UALR might be second only to App State within the conference. Not oppressively hot and humid like Texas/Alabama/Louisiana. Not a bad city, with decent trails (especially when compared to other southern schools) and in a good location in terms of recruiting footprint.
Not sure what their funding is like. Worth noting that their athletic department is a lot smaller than the schools in the league playing football.
