Sisson is 5'2".
Two words:
Allie Ostrander
Des Linden is 5'1", Marielle Hall 5'3", lots of successful distance runners who are small/tiny.
On the other end of the spectrum you got 5'0" Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce as fantastic sprinter.
You can argue that age is more than just a number, but height certainly isn't. The ranges in height across all distances is huge.
Derartu Tulu is 5'2"
Geb and Bekele are only a few inches taller. If men can be elf sized, so can women.
Katherine Ndereba. Mary Keitany. Gabrielle Szabo. I mean seriously. Did you even try or did you just vomit out a bunch of words?
Mare Dibaba is under 5'.
You literally can be the best in the world at any distance at 5’2” as a woman.
Don’t know about 6’2” and up.
Vivian Cheruiyot was pretty good. And the list goes on. Leo Manzano was great and he didn't even have long legs or a thin build really. Just speed and a big engine. Best way to know if you can be a good runner is run.

Less than 0.5% of women globally are over 6' (i don't know data for 6'2"). So even if 6'2" women were equally likely to do well in running, we may just have never seen a top runner that tall because there are just so few of them, plus some will be pulled to other sports that rewards height, like volleyball, basketball, pole vault. So we could still see one eventually, assuming it isn't a handicap to performance.
Leg length way more important than total height.
No. Many top female runners have narrower hips and shorter legs than typical women.
Yes, of course. Two of Japan's marathon gold medalists are shorter than that. Of course, it's more about the 10" above the neck that really matters.
Gail Devers was about that height and hurdled
Height really is not important in distance running. You can absolutely be an elite runner at 5 foot 2, just as you can be an elite runner at 6 foot and above (the tallest person to break the 4 minute mile barrier was 6 foot 7).
