I currently run in New Balance 880s for my nearly all of my runs (7-8:00 pace) but I'm looking for a lightweight running shoe to start getting into tempos and faster paced work. I'm considering the 890v8 or maybe the FuelCell Rebels. From what I've read it seems like the 890 is firm and rebels are pretty soft and "bouncy" which makes me wonder what is better? It seems like the Rebels are liked better because of the "bounce" but makes me feel like the shoe is doing the work for you and not training your legs to run fast on their own.
Is there any science or research saying which is better for your training? Personal anecdotes are also helpful! Thanks
