Hey there! Just would love some insight as to which shoe is better?
Looking for durability and cushioning.
If you could only have one, which would you choose or is it a toss up?
Thanks!

as a heel striker this NB model wears much longer than any Hoka shoes. I love the cushioning of Hoka shoes but the type of rubber they use in the heel area does not last very long for me
Hard agree. NB lasts longer imo.
mach 4 is a bit different than the 1080. 1080 is just a daily trainer where the mach 4 can handle a bit more speed. so 1080 will be more durable, but not as versatile.
wore my 1080s for 13 easy miles today, but wouldn't wear them for any sort of run faster than an easy run. the mach could easily handle some moderate paces.
In my opinion, the Hoka Mach 4 is not a cushioned shoe. It is only soft on the heel and very firm in the fore- and mid-foot.

Having run in all of these, I'd recommend the Triumph or Endorphin Shift. The shift isn't plush, but it is well cushioned and definitely speeds up well. For just a plush, max cushion ride, I think the Triumph is better than the 1080. Enjoying the Mach, but it feels a little better running at slightly faster speeds (not as cushy) and as others have said, it won't be as durable. Actually, sounds like the Gel Nimbus Lite 2 might be your ticket. (I haven't tested that one). Now if you are only choosing from the original two options, I apologize for wasting your time.
1080
I have never tried the Mach, but I didn’t like the 1080 at all.
Felt good in the store when I tried it on but caused me all kinds of problems. Pressure point where the laces are across my forefoot and Achilles issues, both vanished as soon as I switched shoes.
I’m a mid/fore foot runner with high arches, if that helps.
If you want cushion and durability for slow miles 1080, but hoka’s closest shoe to that is the Bondi and id got the Bondi over 1080. Mach 4 if your planning on running faster than 8 min miles.
