She saw off Dudek today, will see off Thorvaldson next year, and then Hutchins the year after that.
Then the age restriction in the Constitution will be removed so she can run for, and become, the first female US president in history.

That is great for the Freshman
Or maybe she will graduate early from high school...who knows! But she is headed to BYU

Pretty weak overall.
I told everyone she wouldn't amount to much after high school.
Overhyped and overtrained. Same old burnout story.
Taylor Ewert is the one to watch.
I don't know if this other thread is true. But if it is, of Starliper, Dudek, Brown and Tuohy, the one without a stress reaction of fracture is now Tuohy.

No way she had an injury Before the Race. Unless her coach is crazy. Certainly might have tweaked something during the race and needed crutches afterwards. Anyway she had no chance of winning her teammate who's been beating are all season finished around 10. And she hasn't won any race all year.

Why would I believe anything you say when you don't even know what grade she is in. You know she's headed to BYU but you don't know that she's not even a senior in high school. That makes sense. how come so many people are delusional on these threads. If you know so much why don't you tell us why she hasn't raced all season?

Good of you to come back and eat crow.

So you made a fool of yourself by spreading nonsense and then you wandered over here & are either too drunk or stoned to realize that you're continuing to make a fool of yourself.

She used to be so tiny. She’s now pretty stout in her young woman’s bod. She’s a stud. If she stays healthy and interested she’ll be what everyone expected of her.
Ok let's maybe stay away from commenting on young women's bodies. Gross

If she hadn't followed that hot pace early, I bet she would've nabbed Top 20.
Decent result, particularly considering her injury. Nothing bad to say about it, except that from the GOAT HS runner, if she were fully healthy, I would hope she would be Top 5 or 10 as a freshman.
Considering she has been at least 15 seconds off her top 3,000 time, at full health I would think she would have been no worse than 5th if she was fully fit (25 seconds faster than she ran today).
.
BTW, compare Tuohy to her team mate Shaw, who has been running pretty much the same track times as Touhy (4:38 on DMR, 9:17 3,000). Ran a pretty even paced race, certainly did not collapse the last K, and was 50 seconds behind Tuohy. With Tuohy, Chmiel, and next year Rauber NC State has runners who excel in XC.

She had surgery! How many runners in the field have surgery within the last year
And therein lies the problem. Having knee surgery at 18 is a sure sign that you've overdone it in your youth. No-one should be running 70 miles a week aged 16 like she was doing.
She'll be a solid top 20 finisher for the rest of her NCAA career but no better. Her "glory" days are over and she'll be just another teen phenom burnout.

OK, we will turn a blind eye to science and ignore body type (male, female, or however a person identifies) as a factor in athletic performance, particularly running performance, be it sprinting, middle distance, or distance running. Accordingly, we shouldn't discussed Ryan Hall bulking up. We should also probably avoid discussions about running form (e.g. foot strike, arm swing, etc.). Such clinical discussions have no place in modern society.
So only a four time all-American in XC? Not bad. LOL.
Injuries are part of the sport, a big part. See Mary Decker, more currently Starliper, Orton, Dudek, etc.).Tuohy has not run an XC race since 2019, is recovering from injury, ran aggressive as hell, helped her team become the national runner-up and is the only freshman to make All-American in the field. If only all of us could burnout this gracefully.
Sorry, but her future looks fine.

Just say you're a creep who wants to talk about a teenager's body and move on

But surely not the kind of career that many here are tipping her for, LOL.
Yes, injuries are part of the sport but you're fooling yourself if you think knee surgery at 18 is in any way a normal thing to happen. Very, very few come back better after that, whatever age they are.
Decker had a much bigger surgery, just as an example. Tuohy looked very good. Sorry. But the narrative must survive. If it makes you feel better. Anyway, we will all have to wait and see.

Anecdotal, but I know 3 people who got knee surgery due to sports injuries between ages 14-17, and all three are now some of the best on their teams in soccer and lax. Whether or not she comes back better, we'll see, but All American isn't bad for your first xc race in over a year, especially as a freshman.
Katelyn Tuohy sure was something special in High School.
What is she up to now? OH - 24th............
Nice to see the haters pressed.
Btw since you bring it up, what chance would high school junior Tuohy have had to win yesterday? Maybe it is crazy and maybe a high school junior would not yet be mature enough to run well in such a big race, but I did not even think she would run yesterday. Then I turned on the video and she was running with the lead pack and held on very well when other runners completely imploded. She is just a gritty XC runner. Just based on comparable 3000m times, and knowing that she is still regaining her form right now, I don't think it is unreasonable to see her staying with the leaders right to the end at her high school peak. As hypotheticals go.
She would have been top 10 and had a chance at top 5 as a junior in HS. Ping would have finished about 40th at peak fitness when she won Griak in 7th grade.
