What happened to Cain? I thought that she started to gain weight and Salazar told her to lose weight. It is a very sensitive topic and off-limits for male to female. Her times increased and have stayed there.

You Qanon?
Drew has run 13:17 as like a 23 year old 740 low for 3k and amply fast at 1500 shut up everyone with DH being overrated
The most overhyped and overrated runner in the United states is without a doubt dathan ritzenhein.
He basically did NOTHING since highschool.
He was really just a "posterboy" with thousands of kids that had no leg speed or anaerobic capabilities. The Mile is 100 percent an anaerobic race, just like the 800. Ritz could never do anything under 5k because he had no leg speed, and it's also why he LOST virtually every track 5k and 10k he ever did. He had no kick and simply couldn't hang with ppl like tegencamp or solinski or kennedy.
Not only is Ritz untalented and overrated, he is also a poor father and a bad role model. He went all around the country pushing bullcrap down kids throats about how all they need to do is run junk miles and never do any anaerobic work.
Do us all a favor and pretend Ritz and his failure lydiard philosophy never existed. Erase his name from the history books. He doesnt hold any records anyways. The damage he has done to our highschool kids is unfathomable and hopefully not beyond repair.
He is an overprivleged piece of garbage that raced with a preppy Abercrombie sea shell necklace on.
ur just a phucking hater lol
I never understand these strange comments. He merely stated his opinion without emotion. Maybe he loves those runners and is disappointed that they didn't perform better. I don't see any indication that he dislikes them.
Two of them are 18 year old freshmen. Logic.

blah blah blah oh wow I'm so awesomely opinionated blah blah blah
That's just stupid and objectively wrong. Just as a casual distance-running fan, I can recall him winning NCAA XC, setting a collegiate record for 10000m, making 2 or 3 Olympic teams, getting 6th or so in a World Championships 10000m, setting an AR in the 5000m, and winning a bronze at the World Half-Marathon. If that is doing nothing since high school...wait, let me quote you correctly, if that is doing NOTHING since high school (has to be all-caps to emphasize how it was quite literally NOTHING), then myself and most other readers would probably love to do NOTHING in our post-HS careers also.
I really hope you aren't an actual HS coach, because the lasting effects of mental abuse, eating disorders, bone density loss, and other subsequent mental/physical health struggles are not to be taken lightly.
He said the mile is 100% anerobic, it’s just some guy being funny
Takes a troll to know one yknow
ummmmmm ever heard of jordan hasay???

it's not abnormal, but he is going to be the oldest guy and at an advantage. He is something like 4 months younger than fisher but got an extra year of high school.
Where i come from, athletic minded parents hold their kids back a year so that they can have this advantage.
Exactly. It's either for some sort of advantage or if the student is struggling early on with school. Whether the Hunters did this intentionally we'll never know, but it no doubt gives him an advantage.
Let's say the "average" student for a given year is born in June, then Hunter is "on average" 10 months older than the "average" student. That's huge.
Ok so how many times did he lose his junior year. Since he had such an advantage lol

Yeah, because he was competing against seniors that were THE SAME AGE AS HIM. He basically got an extra year of school to beat up on younger kids.

her issues did not start with alsal. that whole thing is ridiculously overblown. Maybe he didn't do her any favors, but realistically, she is just another in a long line of girl runners who peaked as a teenager.
You really struggle with facts. Did you not look at the page that listed the start dates for every state? You are either really dumb or you are just dishonest. I think it is the latter. You want to keep pushing this lie even though the facts have been presented to you. That is a bad move because it has caused you to lose credibility on this site.

Regardless of the cut-off, it is a FACT that he is one of the oldest in his class, since his birthday is right AT the cut-off. How is this news to you? He's only 4 months younger than Grant Fisher, yet he had an extra year of high school. That's why he was able to run 3:57 for the mile, and that's why he was overrated. It's that simple.
LOL at thinking anyone cares about losing "credibility on this site".
Plenty of people are 18 their senior year of hs. Just because some of the runners you've seen are 17 doesn't take away from someone else being 18 lol.
If every grade can have a age range of 2 years why try to downgrade Hunters performance. How many college freshman run 3:57?

The fact is that Hunter was one of the oldest runners in his year, and it showed. This is a thread about overrated high schoolers, and a large reason why guys like Hunter were "overrated" is because they were simply older than most of their contemporaries. That is a FACT.
When Hunter ran his 3:57 indoors, Grant Fisher had already run a 7:50 3k indoors. They were both 18 years old. Which mark is more impressive?
It's important to remember that physical maturity and age are very important in high school athletics. Hunter was both older and more mature than his contemporaries, thus his accomplishments were slightly overrated. It's that simple.
nobody is saying drew was not a phenomenal high school runner. just that his accomplishments probably looked a little more otherworldly than they really were.
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
Move over Mark Coogan, Rojo and John Kellogg share their 3 favorite mile workouts
Red Bull (who sponsors Mondo) calls Mondo the pole vaulting Usain Bolt. Is that a fair comparison?
