Common sense says you’re Gabe or Gabe’s friend and have provided nothing of factual substance here. The silent road =/= high road.

You are correct in that no reasonable person would conclude this was handled correctly IF it were handled the way it is reported here.
Again, use common sense. If you wanted to sabotage a program even the least experienced and ill-willed coach would have done it more subtlety.
Use common sense, what is being reported here are partial truths, half truths, and then fabrication.
One side is taking the high road.
The BU atheltics administration knows the truth. And even if the head coach was all the things being said here, the BU administration would not have allowed for such an injustice.
I ask for the last time, use common sense. It didn't go down as is being portrayed here. For the athletic administration to allow a dismissal at that moment, there HAD to be something legitimate.
There have been people 100 times closer to the program than you that have told us exactly what happened. Current team members, alumni, friends, and colleagues. We know exactly what happened.
There are also people who know Gabe Sanders who have confirmed this is how Gabe acts and he even did the same types of things before leaving BU to Stanford.
If you have specific details otherwise, then state them and state how you got that info. It appears, however, that you have nothing. Stop assuming.
Broe hasn't been coaching at Wellesley for over a year + now. He did help do some nice things at Wellesley, which is awesome and the team has seen a strong uptick in performances.
Personality wise, Broe is very old school and definitely has a "throw it up against the wall and see what sticks" mentality. Hence the reason why Seidel left him and there isn't really anything left of the Saucony group in Boston. Might only still be coaching James Randon? I don't think he will make a great college coach, especially at a place like BU and given the environment of college athletics / higher ed these days...
You're soiling your BU education. You should be able to think critically about human resource legality. Drink the kool aid, because the 1/2 truths fuel your narrative.
If the xc coach was beloved and successful, and the head coach is incompetent and manipulative, then how on earth did things end the way they did? Use your head. Question your sources. Apologies will be accepted later.
Ol'Runner, you must be mistaken. Why hasn't Chris Solinsky been fired yet based on your logic? Worst Gator team in the history of the program. DFL at NCAA Regionals and at Conference. Didn't have one runner break 25-min. Florida is weak sauce across the board. Used to be NCAA's best athletics program across the board winning the Commissioner's Cup.. now nothing.

Gabe told Spangler in August that his contract would not be renewed at the end of the year. This has been confirmed by multiple people, including Spangler himself (he told his athletes the full story after he got fired). No reason needed because it's not a firing, it's a non-renewal.
Someone posted on the forums here that Spangler was out at the end of the year. Gabe accused Spangler of breaking the secret and fired him. It's possible that Spangler wasn't fired, but was allowed to receive pay until the contract ended but was relieved of his coaching responsibilities.
The team wasn't aware of Spangler not being renewed, so the first they heard of it was from letsrun. It also came after Spangler won a championship, won coach of the year, and qualified an athlete to nationals. It was the worst possible timing for a firing.
Hey Standard- You are correct, the distance group has not quite blossomed under Solinsky yet. I hope they do and maybe he's getting some extra time. We'll see! I think maybe I didn't explain my point well. There is simply no comparison between BU and UF in terms of athletic departments! UF has won 9 of the last 10 SEC All-Sports Trophies. UF has 9 NCAA Track Championships. When UF fires a coach (even a coach who is a 9 on a scale of 10) they can anticipate finding a replacement who is a 9.5. At BU, you fire your 9 and I think you'll be lucky to replace that coach with a 6 or 7.
Solinsky has done just enough to not get fired.
Women's DMR was 6th at NCAA's this year.
Wilkinson was 6th at NCAA's in the 800 this year.
Florida women were 16th at NCAA's in XC in 2018.
His hourglass might be running out of sand.
What are you guys talking about? Solinsky is telling everyone that he will be the next head coach at Wisconsin. He’s not done a single thing in his coaching career. He is delusional

This appears to be Gabe's plan.
I actually disagree. Solinsky has done a decent job with the scholarships he’s been given. He’s had some All-American (or close) performances in his Australian women, got his women’s team to a good finish at XC nationals, and most importantly, recruited most of the best Florida kids in his class of 2024 and 2025.
So that’s the bar? He’s been on record as to talking down other programs and yet what he has done seems to suffice.
It's official, Gabe Sanders has RUINED Boston University.
He fired the successful distance coach, now the top female is transferring and the top male is injured.
The group Sanders is responsible for, the sprinters, is abysmal. The top male hurdler runs 15.98 and the top female runs 15.74. He can't even field a 4x1 for the men. 4x4 is decent at 3:37....oh wait that's the MEN'S time. Women are at 4:23. No men or women ran the open 400 this year. No intermediate hurdlers. Fully funded women's program and his top high jumper has only cleared 4'11.
Sanders has been telling us alumni BU will be the Stanford of the east and a nationally ranked top 10 track team. BU will rise from the ashes and dominate. Heard it here first.

intriguing
Does Holy Cross even have scholarships?

Holy Cross has exactly zero men's scholarships.
Zero BU athletes on start lists for regionals
That 100/200 kid didn't make it?
