Hi guys, Have got a serious question that i need help with.
I am wondering if i am running too fast for my own good. I typically run my easy runs around 07:00 - 07:40 min/mile pace and my heart rate is ALWAYS around 155-165 and i cant get it any lower! (160 for me would be 80% of my HR MAX bearing in mind. But the problem i have is, if i run any slower and say towards 08:00-08:20 min/miles, ill still be roughly around 70%-75% of my HR MAX which is still not where i think it should be! I look on strava at my pals 'easy runs' and they are just as fast as mine (if not faster) and they're all hitting mid 130's for their avg HR WTF!!! (my age too) With all due respect im not by any means a hobby-jogger who runs for fun. I'd like to take athletics as far as i possibly can but im worried that this might be a physiological barrier that i'm now discovering. My resting heart rate lies at around 53 when awake and around 46 when asleep if that means anything but it can creep up to the 100's just by going for a walk sometimes.
