He said he was going to hold a time trial race today at eather 10am or 4pm CST. He said based off his workouts he should be comfortably in the 12:50 range for 5k, but anything can happen and he hopes to go somewhere around 12:40 for 5,000. He feels it's totally doable. He said he is expecting a large crowd of fans, but no pacesetters and he will use his 6 year old the Nike Streaks because he can't afford anything else.
I “eather” bombed it or I’m just keeping the result a secret so I don’t spoil the crappy video (or maybe both). Trying to get that YouTube money to help fund my weekly ALDI grocery trip.[/qu. So we can assume you did terrible. I personally don't understand 2 hard sessions the week of your race effort. The 200 hard/ 200 at 7 something pace or so the other day made no sense. You need 2 full easy days before a hard race effort. What was the point of 7 minute pace mid for the recovery? I know you're trying to keep the heart rate up, but l think you should have had 2 full easy days. Maybe a few 200s, 2 days out, with a slow jog recovery, but you were actually running those easy 200s . You didn't really back off at all. Without looking it up, l think you had a very hard session earlier in the week of your time trial, then came back with the 200s at mile effort/ running the recovery at 7 minute pace. It takes 2 days to recover before a hard effort. This is just my 2 cents. I bet your 200s did you in.
