For anyone unaware, the CAA conference championships were today, and the Northeastern men just broke W&M’s 20 year streak as conference champs. NU won with a DOMINANT 27-65 performance.

Congrats that must have felt damn good to finally beat them. What a streak.
Masai wins 3rd straight by almost 1 minute
The tribe women were down as well, what's going on in williamsburg?
What happened to Towson State? No team?

Not a surprise but a solid run nonetheless. Interested to see how he performs at nationals.
Hats off to BU men who ran a great race and won a very impressive victory!
W&M only returned one scorer from last year due to graduation and injuries. Don't know what's going on in Williamsburg, as Braden is a great coach. But spending the fall fighting to save men's track from being cut, while teammates looked to transfer, and the women threatened not to run, couldn't have helped.
W&M being beaten by both Richmond and George Mason in their only other outing this season, also shows they weren't at their best. Expect to see them back.
NU men. Get confused as they're in Boston.

I think these results prove Braden is NOT a great coach. Perhaps not even a decent coach either.
Everyone knows the NU and JMU coaches are clowns. But they beat Braden.

Yeah the women were an even bigger shock. FOURTH?! Who is coaching them? Jones or Braden? It seemed like a rough day for them

From Braden's bio - "Braden is responsible for all coaching, recruiting, and administrative aspects for leading W&M's nationally-renowned cross country teams in the fall, and for the distance and middle-distance athletes during the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons."
I know that is what is SAYS but Jones actually coaches the women's team. I was only posing the question because it seemed like all the blame was on Braden, and it shouldn't be. They're essentially separate programs. Either wat, they both seem to be hurting lately. Culture problem? Coaching problem? Who knows
Here is Scott Jones' bio. It essentially says that he coaches the women. He gets a lot of credit for some of the recent success of the women's team but it does seem like he hasn't led them to overall success. Heck, I looked it up and one of the girls mentioned multiple times in the bio transferred to W&M, improved some under Jones but then opted to go back to the school she transferred from for her fifth year. Seems like an odd choice, maybe lends to the explanation of the direction the team is going
Jones coaches the women, Braden the men.
Braden seems to be more of a middle distance/track guy as far as coaching goes, great guy solid recuiter.
Jones doesn’t seem to be having success on the recruiting end like W&M is used to having. Either way gibby had the men on another level there.
NU has finally broken out they’ve been very close before to beating W&M but didn’t have the strong front runner to put them out there. Were more middle of the pack guys but good for them.
Elon women are just crazy good, Jones or JMU coach doesn’t have a chance in hell. International recruiting is doing good for Jermyn and guy can flat out develop athletes and get the most out of them. Don’t see Elon losing as long as he’s in charge.
Braden is too controlling to let Jones have full control of the women. Either way, Braden is the boss. If Jones is doing bad, Braden can tell him to fix it or fire him. The buck stops with Braden.
Part of the problem is they hired the throws coach as the director. Throws coaches notoriously hate distance athletes.
No, the other person is right. Jones does 100% of the coaching & recruiting of the women. Braden might oversee it, but that's not the impression anyone gets. I know for a fact that Jones is the women's coach & controls that whole side of the team. They might be better if Braden had some input.

then Braden is a bad coach AND a bad boss. his employee is doing terribly.
Looks like Northeastern ran well and dominated the meet - good for them. That said, I'm not sure this is the time I'd be rubbing it in W&M's face after what they've been through in the past year...
Fair enough, it is probably difficult for them to find motivation with the men's team almost being dropped. Clemson hasn't had a problem though, they're still performing well. If it's a motivation issue it's the coaches job to get the athletes focused and training well. Hope they can pull it together for outdoor season. Tough to see such a great program fall from grace

That's a crappy excuse. Cross country was never on the chopping block. If they felt threatened they should have been training harder than ever to prove they should be kept around.
W&M could have won if Levet was still with them. Such a shame.
