As a Jew ( and now a vegan) I was always offended by green eggs and ham.
+ a lot more than 1.
USA supplied military support to Japan in the early years of WW2 also.
conservatives never let facts get in the way of a good argument!
but seriously, not everything has to be a liberal vs conservative thing. use your own brain. Dr. Seuss enterprises made a decision based on prevailing winds of anti-racism, which isn't a bad thing. They didn't "cancel" anyone's favorite book. They decided to stop printing a few obscure titles.
Stop watching Fox News. It's poisoning you. Read a newspaper instead, or for chrissake, a book.

Liberals, led by the mainstream media, lost their collective minds somewhere in the last few years. Whether Trump drove them to it, or it was just some moral panic that arose, or combination of both, I don't know. But they have lost all sense of logic and reason. It doesn't seem to be getting better, even with Trump gone. We all kind of hoped Biden would be able to tone it down, but he seems engaged in it all as well.
Mr. skeechworthy, I am honestly curious, when you say "the mainstream media," what is in your mind? what specific examples would you point to of the media driving people to lose their minds? and what media do you consume?
No one should be surprised. This is how progressives work. Whatever the status quo is cannot be satisfactory and you have to move things further to the left. It's crazy because the progressives of today don't get that they'll be crapped on by the progressives of tomorrow.
So part of the deal is you have to create dissatisfaction with whatever the status quo is. Because things like systematic unfairness in America have never been less in order to ratchet up the rhetoric and get more hysteric to gain followers. 25 years ago when there still was a lot more prejudice everyone could act much more calmly and rationally about the issue because it was a real visible thing. When it's a much smaller issue you have to get more bombastic and really draw party lines.

not having racist cartoons is "further to the left"?
Accusing others of "hysteric[s]" is classic white straight male dismissing the concerns of non-straight-white males as illegitimate. You have a disappointing lack of empathy.
It was on CNN where I heard the story. A black woman was interviewed and claimed that the books are seeped in racism. What did Fox New report?
I'm just speculating, but I think that the people who run dr. seuss's estate (the ones who decided to stop printing certain books) are ALSO pro dr. seuss.
Crazy, right?
Don't be absurd. We all know things like Dr. Seuss are not racist and Mr. Potato head is not sexist. This is a woke crowd going looking for things to assign racism to where no racism exists. If you want to argue Aunt Jemima is offensive I may disagree but I'm open to discussing that one. Dr. Seuss, no, this is nonsense and we all know it is nonsense. This is not about race, this is about signaling and a political agenda that requires intimidation of the other side into compliance.

I'll answer... the examples are endless. Propaganda, and its intended consequences are nothing new.
Gotta love his comment about "social justice and equality"...

The Mr Potato head thing had already been proven as right-wing hysteria.
Why are you people still screaming about it?
Your family must be so proud of you. Days and days and days of screaming and shouting like a child about Mr Potato Head.
Amazing stuff.
How is that an anti'fascist cartoon? Really? You know what gets me pissed? Just a little? Well I know it's off topic but how that symbol has been misappropriated over the years. Imagine if you saw the cross adorned on something with loads of hate? It would be horrible, surely. I would not think that was OK. I would not and I would argue against it because it would upset and offend a load of peopel and it would not be right. And BTW, I get really annoyed when people assume I am atheist or agnostic when I am not. And yet it is OK to put religious symbolism all over something directly associated with hate. I don't care if it is a cartoon against fascism, I don't actually care if it is well intended (although it misses the point. He was a war monger equal to anyone). It still inappropriately uses symbolism to get across its point. And in a way, well, it negates anything good it would have to say (if it does).
So ironically, those who are complaining about anti antisemitism are actually using prejudice themselves. And I don't understand how they don't recognise that.
He was as racist as anyone. Judge not lest ye be judged.
There's no story here - just snowflakes wanting to be triggered so they can yell "CANCEL CULTURE!!"
Exactly all of this.
Dr. Seuss's own estate decides they don't want to print a couple of books anymore because they are from a different (offensive) time and a bunch of Leave It to Beaver humping m-er f-ers get their undies in a bunch defending anyone they can against the dreaded 'cancel culture'. Newsflash: the dude's dead. He doesn't need you to defend him. This is what you're defending?

The Commies/SJWs/degenerates are never going to look in the mirror. After the "mostly peaceful" riots of last summer, I think we can say that the modern day Leftist political movement has transcended into one of the most insidious, vile collection of people ever assembled, ranking up there with the Philistines and Carthaginians as examples of degeneracy influencing cultural expression on a larger scale.
Do you know what? I think this is the first time I agreed with BW. Apart from the pteurosaurs.

While this post falls into the category of technically true, I think you missed the target of ridicule.

Quite literally the definition of being progressive is the belief that things can be better than the status quo. I guess for a white male this can feel threatening and scary, but for most folks, striving to be better tomorrow than we are today is applauded. No one has ever been so good today that they can't strive to be better tomorrow. Except maybe Jesus I guess.
Just goes to show how even Obama was a racist neo nazi.
